On April 20, 2024 Extinction Rebellion (XR) will take action with as many rebels as possible at Eelde Airport to make our demands known and generate attention for the absurdity of the investments of the provinces.

The action will be both high-risk and low-risk. Get your nicest swimming trunks and your most summery outfit ready because we are going to have a great party. After Maastricht on the 9th of March and Eindhoven on the 23rd of March, XR will once again take massive action against aviation and now at Groningen Airport Eelde. Over the next 10 years, the provinces of Drenthe and Groningen will jointly invest €4,600,000 annually in Airport Eelde:
€4.6 million annually for an airport that at its peak transported only 228,000 passengers per year.
€4.6 million annually for an airport that should already have had an airport decision in 2014 and still does not.
€4.6 million annually for an airport, while bus lines are disappearing everywhere.

XR demands:
