Crew Dragon Demo-2 (officially known as SpaceX Demo-2) will be the first crewed test flight of the Crew Dragon spacecraft, scheduled for launch to the International Space Station on 27 May 2020 at 20:33:33 UTC. Demo-2 will be the first crewed orbital spaceflight launched from the United States since the final Space Shuttle mission, STS-135, in 2011. Crew Dragon Demo-2 will also be the first two-person orbital spaceflight launched from the United States since STS-4 in 1982.
Wednesday’s (27-05-2020) Launch of the NASA/SpaceX Demo-2 MIssion has been scrubbed due to weather.

Death of George Floyd:
The death of George Floyd, an African-American man, occurred in Minneapolis on May 25, 2020, when Derek Chauvin, a Caucasian Minneapolis police officer, knelt on Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds, with 2 minutes and 53 seconds of that occurring after Floyd was unresponsive, according to the criminal complaint filed against Chauvin. Floyd was handcuffed and lying face down on the road, while Chauvin had his knee on his neck. The three other arresting officers were identified as Thomas K. Lane, Tou Thao, and J. Alexander Kueng. Officer Kueng held Floyd’s back while Lane held his legs, and Thao stood nearby and looked on. The four officers were fired the next day.

Death of Rayshard Brooks:
Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old black man, was shot and killed by an Atlanta Police Department officer on the evening of June 12, 2020. Brooks had resisted arrest and wrested a taser as he wrestled on the ground with two police officers. During a foot chase, Brooks fired the taser at one of the officers, who then shot Brooks in the back with his sidearm.
Video of the incident went viral. Atlanta Chief of Police Erika Shields resigned the next day, saying she wanted to help rebuild trust in the community. Protestors later burned down the Wendy’s where the shooting had taken place.

Introduction:
The term “overshoot” represents the level by which human population overshoots the sustainable amount of resources on Earth. When viewed through an economic perspective, EOD represents the day in which humanity enters environmental deficit spending. EOD is calculated by dividing the world biocapacity (the amount of natural resources generated by Earth that year), by the world ecological footprint (humanity’s consumption of Earth’s natural resources for that year), and multiplying by 365, the number of days in a year. Earth Overshoot Day is calculated by Global Footprint Network and is a campaign supported by dozens of other nonprofit organizations. Information about Global Footprint Network’s calculations and national Ecological Footprints are available online.

Changes in carbon emissions and forest biocapacity from January 1st to Earth Overshoot Day 2021 were evaluated. The research team concluded a 6.6% increase in the global Ecological Footprint compared to 2020. As reported by IEA, the global pandemic induced lockdowns caused an initial sharp drop on CO2 emissions in 2020. However, emissions increased again during the second half 2020. At the end of the year, total emissions were reported to be 5.8% lower than 2019 emissions due to the global pandemic. Combined with the most recent data from the Global Carbon Project, we estimate a 6.6% increase in the carbon Footprint for 2021 compared to the year prior. The second notable change was the effect of Amazon deforestation and degradation on global forest biocapacity. The research team estimates a 0.5% decrease in global forest biocapacity.
The downloadable research report documents these drivers. The result of all data extrapolations and analyzed factors concluded that Earth Overshoot Day 2021 lands on July 29.
