Uit het onderzoek 'Refugees and migrants at the Balkans route overview of the data on arrivals in 2025' van Save the Children blijkt dat het aantal migranten en vluchtelingen dat via de Balkanroute reist in officiële cijfers mogelijk aanzienlijk wordt onderschat.
