On 28 March 2025 at 12:50:54 MMT (06:20:54 UTC), the M_w 7.7 2025 Myanmar earthquake struck the Sagaing Region of Myanmar, with an epicenter close to Mandalay, the country’s second-largest city, the strike-slip faulting shock achieved a maximum Modified Mercalli intensity of IX (Violent).
