Nieuw-Zeeland , Nieuw-ZeelandHet Verdrag van Waitangi (Engels: Treaty of Waitangi, Maori: Tiriti o Waitangi) was een verdrag getekend op 6 februari 1840 tussen vertegenwoordigers van het Britse rijk en enkele Maori-stamhoofden, dit verdrag was nodig omdat er een stroeve verhouding was tussen beide groepen met betrekking tot onder andere de verdeling van land.
