Jaarlijks wordt op 17 december de Internationale Dag Stop Geweld Tegen Sekswerkers (Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers) georganiseerd, deze dag werd in 2003 voor het eerst erkend als herdenkingsdag om de slachtoffers van de Green River Killer in Seattle (Washington ) en andere vermoordde prostituees te herdenken.
