De World Press Photo van het jaar is een jaarlijkse fotoprijs georganiseerd door de Nederlandse stichting World Press Photo., de maker van de winnende inzending ontvangt tienduizend euro.

De prijs wordt gegeven aan het beeld dat “… is not only the photojournalistic encapsulation of the year, but represents an issue, situation or event of great journalistic importance, and does so in a way that demonstrates an outstanding level of visual perception and creativity”.
