What can the Netherlands do to hold polluting companies to account?

For decades, oil company Pluspetrol, headquartered in the Netherlands, has polluted the Peruvian Amazon, devastating Indigenous communities with oil spills and toxic waste. In 2019, those communities—together with SOMO, Oxfam Novib, Oxfam Peru and Peru Equidad—filed a complaint at the Dutch OECD National Contact Point.
