In opposition to the ban by the UK government on Palestine Action, almost 3,000 people have been arrested for holding signs as part of the Lift The Ban campaign, leading to a 660% rise in UK “terrorism” arrests in the year to end of September 2025.
On February 13th 2026, the High Court ruled that the proscription is unlawful on two grounds. Nobody was arrested that day despite around 150 people holding the same signs that had previously led to arrests. The Divisional Court has now granted the government permission to appeal the Judicial Review ruling. It has also decided to “stay” the quashing of the proscription pending this appeal – meaning the proscription of Palestine Action remains in place for now. We have now announced a mass sign-holding action on Saturday April 11th in London’s Trafalgar Square; Everyone Day. The ban on Palestine Action must be lifted, and all charges and investigations into the almost 3,000 people who have been arrested under the Terrorism Act for allegedly supporting the group must be dropped.
