The International Reggae Day (IRD) is the 24-hour global celebration of Jamaican music culture and its global impact.

Launched in 1994 in Kingston, the birthplace of Reggae. IRD connects Reggae lovers around the world in a shared tribute to Jamaica’s rich musical legacy. Each year, IRD spotlights a defining aspect of Jamaican music, celebrating its history, innovation and worldwide influence. For 32 years, International Reggae Day has celebrated the culture, legacy and sound that began in Kingston, Jamaica, ‘where big tings start’, and has captivated the world. But in 2026 we’re doing more than celebrating, We’re Reclaiming. This year is a global rallying cry to reignite the message, amplify the sound and elevate the voices that matter. Whether you’re an artiste in Kingston, a selector in Soweto, a radio station in Nassau, a band in Bogotá, a fan in Tokyo, a sound system in Berlin, a DJ in Bahia or an online Reggae platform or community – IRD 2026 invites you to activate this year on JulyOne.
