Since October 1998, the American Geosciences Institute has organized the Earth Science Week, a worldwide event to help the public gain a better understanding and appreciation for the Earth sciences and to encourage stewardship of the Earth.

Our energy future calls for navigating complex choices about how we power our homes, businesses, and transportation. These decisions require a deep understanding of their environmental, social, and economic impacts, and how they align with our personal and societal values. 2025 Earth Science Week theme, “Energy Resources for Our Future” encourages us to become informed energy consumers and to actively work towards a sustainable future that ensures a high quality of life for generations to come.
