DESCRIPTION:Chevron runs natural gas extraction and pipelines off the shore of Palestine/Israel\, making it a major partner in Israeli energy apartheid\, the military blockade on Gaza\, and the illegal exploitation of Palestinian land and resources. \nJoin Palestinian civil society and a growing international coalition calling on Chevron to end its support of genocide and apartheid in Palestine. Chevron is the largest producer of natural gas for Israel and the largest multinational corporation with a significant stake in Israel’s energy sector. It operates and partially owns the largest active Israeli gas fields\, Tamar and Leviathan\, and the smaller and undeveloped Dalit field\, all of which are located in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea\, west of Haifa. The gas from Tamar is processed in a rig that is located farther south\, off the coast of Isdud/Ashdod. In 2023\, Chevron made an estimated $1.5 billion in revenue from Tamar and Leviathan gas sales alone\, mostly from exports to Egypt and Jordan. Chevron partially owns the Mari B gas field off the coast of the Gaza Strip\, but it has been depleted and inactive since 2013. Chevron also operates and partially owns the East Mediterranean Gas (EMG) pipeline\, which runs from Israel to Egypt off the coast of the Gaza Strip. As the operator of these gas fields and the pipeline\, Chevron is in charge of all operations of these projects\, including planning\, construction\, production\, and supply. The Caspian Pipeline Consortium in Russia\, which supplies crude oil to Israel\, and the main Kazakh companies that supply this oil\, are also partially owned by Chevron. Between 2021 and December 2024\, Chevron spent nearly $28.5 million on lobbying the U.S. government\, including on energy issues related to Israel. DESCRIPTION:Justice for Palestine verzoekt de Europese Commissie om bij de Raad een voorstel in te dienen voor de volledige opschorting van de associatieovereenkomst tussen de EU en Israël. \nVolgens de Europese Commissie (Europese Dienst voor extern optreden\, nota van het Bureau van de speciale vertegenwoordiger van de EU voor de mensenrechten\, 20 juni 2025) is de staat Israël verantwoordelijk voor een ongekend groot aantal doden en gewonden onder burgers\, grootschalige ontheemding en de systematische vernietiging van ziekenhuizen en medische voorzieningen in Gaza. Israël heeft ook een blokkade van humanitaire hulp ingesteld die zou kunnen neerkomen op hongersnood als oorlogsmethode. Israël schendt meerdere regels en verplichtingen uit hoofde van het internationaal recht en zorgt er niet voor dat het misdrijf genocide wordt voorkomen\, zoals het Internationaal Gerechtshof heeft bevolen. Toch heeft de Europese Unie haar associatieovereenkomst met Israël\, de hoeksteen van de bilaterale handels-\, economische en politieke samenwerking tussen de EU en Israël\, nog steeds niet opgeschort. DESCRIPTION:Sit-in door een groep Nederlandse ambtenaren die zich ernstige zorgen maakt over het aanhoudende Israëlische offensief in Gaza – dat volgens het Internationaal Gerechtshof bestempeld werd als plausibele genocide- en het Nederlandse beleid in reactie hierop. \nJe kent ze misschien van de sit-ins die elke donderdag om 12:00 plaatsvinden voor het Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken. Als ambtenaren zijn zij doordrongen van het belang van internationaal recht. Ze legden een eed af op de Grondwet\, inclusief artikel 90 waarin staat dat de regering de internationale rechtsorde bevordert. Het is aan de politiek om het beleid uiteen te zetten\, dat klopt. Maar ook de politiek heeft zich te houden aan onze Grondwet en aan internationaal verdragsrechtelijke verplichtingen. Het is aan ambtenaren om de politiek erop te wijzen wanneer beleid het internationaal recht (mogelijk) schaadt. En die taak – die plicht – nemen zij zeer serieus. Zij verwachten van onze regering dat zij zich onvermoeibaar in gaat zetten voor consistente naleving van het internationaal recht. Concreet stellen zij vier eisen aan de Nederlandse regering en verwachten wij van de regering dat alle diplomatieke middelen worden aangewend om onderstaande te bewerkstelligen: \n1. Maximale inzet op een onmiddellijk en permanent staakt-het-vuren en volledige humanitaire toegang tot Gaza. \n2. ⁠Een eind aan alle vormen van steun voor én rechtvaardiging van Israëls huidige militaire optreden in Gaza en erkenning van het internationale humanitaire en oorlogsrecht; \n3. ⁠De onmiddellijke naleving van recente uitspraken van het Internationaal Gerechtshof (ICJ). \n4.
