Je krijgt er geen melding van. Je kunt het nergens controleren. Dat is geen toeval. Voor platforms als Meta\, TikTok en X levert ophef nu eenmaal meer geld op. Maar zo bepaalt een handvol bedrijven welk verhaal Nederland te horen krijgt. En dat raakt onze democratie. Het gekke is: de Europese wet (de Digital Services Act) verbiedt dit eigenlijk al. Alleen handhaaft Nederland nauwelijks. Daarom starten we vandaag een burgerinitiatief. Met 40.000 handtekeningen kan de de Tweede Kamer worden gedwongen om dit probleem op tafel te leggen. DESCRIPTION:Spiegeltje\, spiegeltje aan de wand: wie schenkt de meeste suiker van het land? \nEen dagje Efteling staat voor sprookjes\, achtbanen en familieplezier\, maar sinds eind 2024 staat er ook een minder sprookjesachtige attractie op de plattegrond: D’n Dorstlesser. Via dit concept\, een samenwerking met Coca-Cola\, kunnen bezoekers de hele dag onbeperkt suikerhoudende drankjes tappen\, in een park dat grotendeels bestaat uit gezinnen met jonge kinderen. Voor €17 koop je een herbruikbare beker waarmee je de hele openingsdag\, elke 45 minuten opnieuw\, mag bijvullen bij een van de vier taplocaties. Bij realistisch gebruik (vijf tapbeurten cola) zit je al op 65 suikerklontjes: ruim tien keer de strengste WHO-streefwaarde van 25 gram (6 klontjes) vrije suikers per dag. Wie de beker maximaal benut\, komt tot 10 bekers per dag: 130 suikerklontjes\, nog voordat er een hap is gegeten. Er is bij de tap ook water en zijn er suikervrije varianten\, maar daar draait het concept niet om. D’n Dorstlesser wordt gepresenteerd en beleefd als attractie op zich: iets om de hele dag mee bezig te zijn\, niet als een simpel glaasje water erbij. Ook via suikervrije varianten wennen kinderen aan een zoete smaak en aan het idee dat de hele dag door tappen normaal is. Het stimuleert bovendien merkbinding op jonge leeftijd\, ongeacht welke variant er wordt getapt: kinderen die de hele dag tappen\, proeven en mixen\, raken al vroeg vertrouwd met één merk. Foodwatch roept de Efteling op te stoppen met onbeperkte frisdrank via D’n Dorstlesser / Coca-Cola Freestyle\, en de constructie met de “partners in kwaliteit” kritisch tegen het licht te houden. Zij nodigen het park uit om haar eigen ambities uit de Ambitie van Gezond Uit waar te maken. Ook roepen ze andere parken op hun aanbod te toetsen: parken die onbeperkt frisdrank\, ijs of friet aanbieden\, en parken die zich net als de Efteling aan de Ambitie van Gezond Uit hebben verbonden (zoals Toverland\, Walibi Holland en Burgers’ Zoo). DESCRIPTION:Amsterdam wil schone lucht voor de bewoners\, ondernemers en bezoekers van de stad. \nDe lucht is nu nog niet schoon genoeg. Amsterdammers ademen elke dag ongezonde lucht in die vergelijkbaar is met het meeroken van 4 sigaretten per dag (bron: GGD Amsterdam\, 2024). Hierdoor hebben de inwoners van Amsterdam een grotere kans op long-\, hart- en vaatziekten. Bij bijna 18 procent van de kinderen met astma in Amsterdam is luchtvervuiling de oorzaak. En bij mensen van 50 jaar en ouder komt 12 procent van de gevallen van longkanker zelfs door vieze lucht. Door dit alles leven Amsterdammers gemiddeld 11 maanden korter (cijfers 2024). Om de gezondheid van mensen te beschermen\, heeft de Europese Unie wettelijke regels (normen) gemaakt voor de kwaliteit van schone lucht. Daarnaast wordt de klimaatproblematiek steeds dringender en daarom wil de gemeente haar CO₂-uitstoot verminderen. Amsterdam voldoet nu nog niet aan de regels voor luchtkwaliteit die in 2030 gaan gelden. Om daar wel aan te kunnen voldoen en de CO₂-uitstoot te verminderen voor het klimaat\, moeten we maatregelen nemen. Deze maatregelen komen in het Uitvoeringsplan Luchtkwaliteit voor de periode 2027-2030. Waar mogelijk worden ook bestaande maatregelen uitgebreid of verbeterd. The Wide-Field Instrument (WFI) is a 300.8-megapixel multi-band visible and near-infrared camera\, providing a sharpness of images comparable to that achieved by the Hubble Space Telescope over a 0.28 square degree field of view\, 100 times larger than imaging cameras on the Hubble. The Coronagraphic Instrument (CGI) is a high-contrast\, small field of view camera and spectrometer covering visible and near-infrared wavelengths using novel starlight-suppression technology. Stated objectives include a search for extra-solar planets using gravitational microlensing\, along with probing the chronology of the universe and growth of cosmic structure\, with the end goal of measuring the effects of dark energy\, the consistency of general relativity\, and the curvature of spacetime. As of July 2022\, Roman is scheduled to be launched on a Falcon Heavy rocket under a contract specifying readiness by October 2026. Free Money Day kun je zien als een sociaal experiment; wat gebeurt er als je geld aanbiedt aan mensen die je niet kent. Nederland is er klaar mee: Stop Fossiele Subsidies nu. De fossiele industrie jaagt met de tientallen miljarden euro’s aan fossiele subsidies de wereldwijde klimaat en ecologische crisis aan. Zij zijn daarmee verantwoordelijk voor miljoenen slachtoffers van klimaat rampen. En dat wordt gestimuleerd door onze overheid. In de Europese Unie is in 2026 een recordoppervlakte van ongeveer 1 miljoen hectare bos in vlammen opgegaan. De Europese hittegolf van begin juli heeft waarschijnlijk ongeveer 2300 mensen het leven gekost in 12 grote steden. Terwijl de klimaatcrisis in om zich heen grijpt\, zitten we in Nederland met een kabinet\, met een voormalig ‘klimaatdrammer’ aan het hoofd\, maar dat niet bezig lijkt met het oplossen van de klimaat- en ecologische crisis. De verantwoordelijkheid voor het afschaffen van fossiele subsidies wordt niet gepakt\, maar zelfs afgeschoven naar Europa. De wereld staat in brand en de Nederlandse overheid weigert in actie te komen. 39\,7 tot 46\,4 miljard euro aan fossiele subsidies per jaar gaat er vanuit onze overheid aan kortingen naar grote fossiele bedrijven. DESCRIPTION:Head and neck cancer is a group of cancers that starts in the mouth\, nose\, throat\, larynx\, sinuses\, or salivary glands. \nSymptoms for head and neck cancer may include a lump or sore that does not heal\, a sore throat that does not go away\, trouble swallowing\, or a change in the voice; there may also be unusual bleeding\, facial swelling\, or trouble breathing. About 75% of head and neck cancer is caused by the use of alcohol or tobacco. Other risk factors include betel quid\, certain types of human papillomavirus\, radiation exposure\, certain workplace exposures\, and Epstein-Barr virus. Head and neck cancers are most commonly of the squamous cell carcinoma type. The diagnosis is confirmed by tissue biopsy. The degree of spread may be determined by medical imaging and blood tests. Not using tobacco or alcohol can reduce the risk for head and neck cancer. While screening in the general population does not appear to be useful\, screening high risk groups by examination of the throat might be useful. \nHead and neck cancer often is curable if it is diagnosed early; however\, outcomes are typically poor if it is diagnosed late. Treatment may include a combination of surgery\, radiation therapy\, chemotherapy\, and targeted therapy. Following treatment of one head and neck cancer\, people are at higher risk of having a second cancer. In 2015\, head and neck cancers globally affected more than 5.5 million people (2.4 million mouth\, 1.7 million throat\, and 1.4 million larynx cancer)\, and it has caused over 379\,000 deaths (146\,000 mouth\, 127\,400 throat\, 105\,900 larynx cancer). Together\, they are the seventh most-frequent cancer and the ninth most-frequent cause of death from cancer. In the United States\, about 1% of people are affected at some point in their life\, and males are affected twice as often as females. The usual age at diagnosis is between 55 and 65 years old. Tijdens de themamaand organiseren musea\, archieven\, bibliotheken\, gemeentes en culturele instellingen speciale activiteiten rondom het jaarlijkse thema. Dit komt in de vormen van tentoonstellingen\, boeken\, lezingen\, rondleidingen en educatieve programma’s. \nIn 2026 staat het thema ‘Lichaam & Geest‘ centraal. Het draagt ons door het leven heen en komt in alle vormen en maten: ons lichaam. Het brengt plezier en kracht\, het schenkt nieuw leven\, maar het is ook een bron van ziekte\, schaamte of ongeluk. En hoewel ideeën erover door de eeuwen heen zijn veranderd\, is de rol die het lichaam speelt onverminderd groot gebleven.
