Dat blijkt uit het onderzoek ‘Nieuw evenwicht in het energiesysteem‘ van Copper8\, Quintel en Polaris Sustainability in opdracht van Greenpeace Nederland. Het onderzoek laat zien dat een explosieve groei van transitiemetalen\, voor onder andere zonnepanelen\, windturbines en batterijen\, geen gegeven is\, maar een keuze. Ten opzichte van de huidige projecties kan de vraag naar transitiemetalen in de periode tot en met 2050 met 42 – 49% worden verlaagd door energiebesparing en innovatie. Its main functions are to determine the policies of the Organization\, supervise financial policies\, and review and approve the proposed programme budget. The Seventy-ninth World Health Assembly (WHA79) takes place in Geneva\, Switzerland from 18 to 23 May 2026\, bringing together delegations from WHO Member States to set global health policy and advance the Organization’s strategic priorities. It will build upon the momentum of the last year’s 78th World Health Assembly\, which adopted the Global Action Plan on Climate Change and Health\, an updated road map for an enhanced global response to the adverse health effects of air pollution\, and the elevation of climate change as the first strategic objective of WHO’s Fourteenth General Programme of Work (GPW14\, 2025–2028). Het wordt elke zondagmorgen uitgezonden tussen 07:00 en 10:00 op NPO Radio 1. De beginmuziek is een bewerking van Vivaldi’s “Piccolo Concerto in C major” (RV 443). De tv editie wordt uitgezonden via NPO 2 op zondag\, vaak rond een thema. \nIn Slikken van de Heen werd veertig jaar geleden de resetknop ingedrukt. Door de bouw van de Deltawerken veranderde de natuur van zout naar zoet. Met de geur van watermunt in de neus ziet de filmploeg hoe fitissen en graspiepers zich voorbereiden op het broedseizoen. Europese bizons waden door het Krammer-Volkerak\, waar zoetwatermollusken leven. Tegelijk zijn sporen van het zoute verleden nog zichtbaar: zeekraal groeit in de oude slikken en vlak over de dam foerageren wulpen en zilverplevieren. DESCRIPTION:De Europese organisaties die aangesloten zijn bij de Association of European Coeliac Societies (AOECS) organiseren gedurende de maand mei workshops en voorlichtingsbijeenkomsten waarin extra aandacht gevraagd wordt voor coeliakie en NCGS (Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). \nIemand met coeliakie (glutenintolerantie) kan niet tegen gluten. Gluten is een eiwit dat van nature voorkomt in tarwe (waaronder spelt)\, rogge en gerst (gort). Gluten zit in brood\, crackers\, pizza\, pasta\, paneermeel\, koek\, cake en taart. Het zit ook verstopt in de ingrediënten van soepen (bindmiddel\, vermicelli of vlees)\, in sauzen\, sommige snoepjes\, ijssoorten en bier.  Overstappen op producten van en met haver is geen optie want haver is vaak gecontamineerd (besmet) en daardoor niet zonder meer veilig te gebruiken in een glutenvrij dieet. Glutenvrij eten kan dan wel populair zijn als gezondheidsdieet maar voor mensen met coeliakie en NCGS is het geen hype\, het is gewoon medisch noodzakelijk! The Day invites countries to further promote reconciliation to help to ensure peace and sustainable development\, including by working with communities\, faith leaders and other relevant actors\, through reconciliatory measures and acts of service and by encouraging forgiveness and compassion among individuals. \nFollowing the devastation of the Second World War\, the United Nations was established to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war. One of its purposes is to achieve international cooperation in solving international problems\, including by promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race\, sex\, language or religion. In 1997\, the General-Assembly proclaimed – by its resolution 52/15 — the year 2000 as the “International Year for a Culture of Peace”. In 1998\, it proclaimed the period 2001-2010 as the “International Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence for Children of the World.” In 1999\, The General-Assembly adopted\, by resolution 53/243\, the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace\, which serves as the universal mandate for the international community\, particularly the United Nations system\, to promote a culture of peace and non-violence that benefits all of humanity\, including future generations. \nThe declaration came about as a result of the long-held and cherished concept — contained within the Constitution of UNESCO — that “since wars begin in the minds of men\, it is in the minds of men that the defenses of peace must be constructed.” The Declaration embraces the principle that peace is not merely the absence of conflict\, but also requires a positive\, dynamic participatory process\, in which dialogue is encouraged and conflicts are resolved in a spirit of mutual understanding and cooperation. DESCRIPTION:The Nakba (Arabic: النكبة\, romanized: an-Nakbah\, ’the “disaster”\, “catastrophe”\, or “cataclysm”‘)\, also known as the Palestinian Catastrophe\, was the destruction of Palestinian society and homeland in 1948\, and the permanent displacement of a majority of the Palestinian Arabs. \nMay 15\, 2026\, marks the 78th anniversary of the Nakba\, the forced expulsion of approximately 750\,000 Indigenous Palestinians from their homes in 1948. On top of the ruins of our homeland\, the Zionist movement established Israel as a settler colony\, which has adopted apartheid and military occupation to achieve its declared goal: maximum land\, minimum Palestinians. Israel’s livestreamed genocide against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza is the darkest chapter in this ongoing Nakba of oppression and ethnic cleansing. Cutting all links of state\, corporate\, and institutional complicity in its genocidal regime has become an irrefutable legal\, not just moral\, obligation. Israel seeks to normalize and divert attention from its settler-colonial origins by overwhelming the world with tens of thousands of current crimes against Palestinians and the peoples of the region from Lebanon and Iran to Syria and Yemen. Perpetrating unspeakable depraved violence\, it aims to colonize our minds not only with despair but also with amnesia. But Palestinians\, like our ancient olive trees\, are resilient and patient; we also have a fertile collective memory. Our refugees’ right to return home and receive reparations is our most fundamental goal. We struggle\, after all\, not just to end the genocide and the ongoing Nakba but also to dismantle their root cause: 78 years of settler-colonialism and apartheid. \nThe term Nakba is used to describe both the events of 1948 and the ongoing persecution\, displacement\, and occupation of the Palestinians\, both in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip\, as well as in Palestinian refugee camps throughout the region. The foundational events of the Nakba took place during and shortly after the 1948 Palestine war\, including 78% of Mandatory Palestine being declared as Israel\, the expulsion and flight of 700\,000 Palestinians\, the related depopulation and destruction of over 500 Palestinian villages by Zionist militias and subsequent geographical erasure\, the denial of the Palestinian right of return\, the creation of permanent Palestinian refugees and the “shattering of Palestinian society”. The expulsion of the Palestinians has since been described by some historians as ethnic cleansing. In 1998\, Yasser Arafat proposed that Palestinians should mark the 50th anniversary of the Nakba declaring 15 May\, the day after Israeli independence in 1948\, as Nakba Day\, formalizing a date that had been unofficially used as early as 1949.The Nakba greatly influenced the Palestinian culture and is a foundational symbol of Palestinian identity\, together with “Handala“\, the keffiyeh and the symbolic key. De aanwezigheid van vleermuizen is dus een goede graadmeter voor hoe duurzaam en natuurrijk een buurt is. Ga tijdens de tellingsdagen buiten zitten vanaf zonsondergang totdat het donker is. Zoek daarvoor een plek met vrij zicht op een stuk hemel zodat je de vleermuizen kunt zien vliegen. Liefst ook met zicht op een boom of wat struiken\, want daar vliegen vleermuizen graag dichtbij. Noteer hoeveel vleermuizen je tegelijk hebt gezien en van welke soort. Geef de aantallen door via de website van Tuintelling. Er leven bijna twintig vleermuissoorten in Nederland. Als ambtenaren zijn zij doordrongen van het belang van internationaal recht. Ze legden een eed af op de Grondwet\, inclusief artikel 90 waarin staat dat de regering de internationale rechtsorde bevordert. Het is aan de politiek om het beleid uiteen te zetten\, dat klopt. Maar ook de politiek heeft zich te houden aan onze Grondwet en aan internationaal verdragsrechtelijke verplichtingen. Het is aan ambtenaren om de politiek erop te wijzen wanneer beleid het internationaal recht (mogelijk) schaadt. En die taak – die plicht – nemen zij zeer serieus. Zij verwachten van onze regering dat zij zich onvermoeibaar in gaat zetten voor consistente naleving van het internationaal recht. Concreet stellen zij vier eisen aan de Nederlandse regering en verwachten wij van de regering dat alle diplomatieke middelen worden aangewend om onderstaande te bewerkstelligen: \n1. Maximale inzet op een onmiddellijk en permanent staakt-het-vuren en volledige humanitaire toegang tot Gaza. \n2. ⁠Een eind aan alle vormen van steun voor én rechtvaardiging van Israëls huidige militaire optreden in Gaza en erkenning van het internationale humanitaire en oorlogsrecht; \n3. ⁠De onmiddellijke naleving van recente uitspraken van het Internationaal Gerechtshof (ICJ). \n4. DESCRIPTION:Oerrock is een driedaags rock-/popfestival in Ureterp (Friesland)\, dat sinds 2000 jaarlijks plaatsvindt en wordt sinds 2009 gehouden in het Hemelvaartweekend. \nBehalve het festival worden sinds 2004 de Oerrock Play-Offs gehouden. Deze werden in het leven geroepen om ook de wat minder bekende bands een kans te geven voor een groot publiek op te treden. Eerst worden er vier voorronden gehouden\, waarna de winnaars het in de finale tegen elkaar opnemen.
