Als ambtenaren zijn zij doordrongen van het belang van internationaal recht. Ze legden een eed af op de Grondwet\, inclusief artikel 90 waarin staat dat de regering de internationale rechtsorde bevordert. Het is aan de politiek om het beleid uiteen te zetten\, dat klopt. Maar ook de politiek heeft zich te houden aan onze Grondwet en aan internationaal verdragsrechtelijke verplichtingen. Het is aan ambtenaren om de politiek erop te wijzen wanneer beleid het internationaal recht (mogelijk) schaadt. En die taak – die plicht – nemen zij zeer serieus. Zij verwachten van onze regering dat zij zich onvermoeibaar in gaat zetten voor consistente naleving van het internationaal recht. Concreet stellen zij vier eisen aan de Nederlandse regering en verwachten wij van de regering dat alle diplomatieke middelen worden aangewend om onderstaande te bewerkstelligen: \n1. Maximale inzet op een onmiddellijk en permanent staakt-het-vuren en volledige humanitaire toegang tot Gaza. \n2. ⁠Een eind aan alle vormen van steun voor én rechtvaardiging van Israëls huidige militaire optreden in Gaza en erkenning van het internationale humanitaire en oorlogsrecht; \n3. ⁠De onmiddellijke naleving van recente uitspraken van het Internationaal Gerechtshof (ICJ). \n4. DESCRIPTION:  \nVerantwoordingsdag (populair: woensdag gehaktdag of kortweg gehaktdag) is in Nederland jaarlijks op de derde woensdag in mei de dag waarop de Rijksoverheid en de ministeries hun jaarverslagen presenteren aan de Tweede Kamer\, op dezelfde dag publiceert de Algemene Rekenkamer haar verslag van de controles op die jaarverslagen. \nVerantwoordingsdag bestaat sinds 2000. Voor die tijd werden het financieel jaarverslag en de departementale jaarverslagen – toen nog “Financiële Verantwoording” geheten – pas in september aan de Tweede Kamer gezonden. Op aandringen van de Tweede Kamer is dit tijdstip vervroegd\, omdat de Kamerleden het in het najaar te druk hebben met het voorbereiden van de begrotingsbesprekingen om nog veel tijd aan het financiële verslag te kunnen besteden. In de jaarverslagen wordt niet alleen gerapporteerd over hoeveel geld er is uitgegeven en waaraan. Ook wordt besproken welke concrete doelen men voor ogen had en hoeveel daarvan er uiteindelijk in het afgelopen jaar is bereikt. Bovendien komt de minister van Financiën sinds 2000 persoonlijk het verslag aan de Tweede Kamer brengen. Daarbij wordt een speciaal koffertje gebruikt\, net als het koffertje waarin de Miljoenennota zit op Prinsjesdag\, de derde dinsdag in september. Op het koffertje staat het Wapen van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden met daaronder de tekst “DERDE WOENSDAG IN MEI”. In 2004 nam de Tweede Kamer een motie aan\, waarin de regering werd verzocht om daags na de derde woensdag in mei met het voltallige kabinet naar de Tweede Kamer te komen voor een plenair debat over het Rijksjaarverslag. Een Verantwoordingsdag hoort eigenlijk bij de Prinsjesdag van anderhalf jaar eerder: op Verantwoordingsdag 2011 liet het Kabinet zien wat er terecht was gekomen van de plannen voor 2010\, die op Prinsjesdag 2009 waren bekendgemaakt. \nLinks:\nVerantwoordingsdag

DESCRIPTION:World Bee Day is celebrated on 20 May\, on this day Anton Janša\, the pioneer of beekeeping\, was baptized in 1734. \nThe purpose of the international day is to acknowledge the role of bees and other pollinators for the ecosystem. The UN Member States approved Slovenia’s proposal to proclaim 20 May as World Bee Day in December 2017. Bees are winged insects that form a monophyletic clade Anthophila within the superfamily Apoidea of the order Hymenoptera\, with over 20\,000 known species in seven recognized families. Some species – including honey bees\, bumblebees\, and stingless bees – are social insects living in highly hierarchical colonies\, while over 90% of bee species – including mason bees\, carpenter bees\, leafcutter bees\, and sweat bees – are solitary. Members of the most well-known bee genus\, Apis (i.e. honey bees)\, are known to construct hexagonally celled waxy nests called hives. Unlike the closely related wasps and ants\, who are  carnivorous/omnivorous\, bees are herbivores that specifically feed on nectar (nectarivory) and pollen (palynivory)\, the former primarily as a carbohydrate source for metabolic energy\, and the latter primarily for protein and other nutrients for their larvae. They are found on every continent except Antarctica\, and in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants. The most common bees in the Northern Hemisphere are the Halictidae\, or sweat bees\, but they are small and often mistaken for wasps or flies. \nBees range in size from tiny stingless bee species\, whose workers are less than 2 millimeters long\, to the leafcutter bee Megachile pluto\, the largest species of bee\, whose females can attain a length of 39 millimeters. Vertebrate predators of bees include primates and birds such as bee-eaters; insect predators include beewolves and dragonflies. Bees are best known for their ecological roles as pollinators and\, in the case of the best-known species\, the western honey bee\, for producing honey\, a regurgitated and dehydrated viscous mixture of partially digested monosaccharides kept as food storage of the bee colony. Pollination management via bees is important both ecologically and agriculturally\, and the decline in wild bee populations has increased the demand and value of domesticated pollination by commercially managed hives of honey bees. Human beekeeping or apiculture (meliponiculture for stingless bees) has been practiced as a discipline of animal husbandry for millennia\, since at least the times of Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. Bees have appeared in mythology and folklore\, through all phases of art and literature from ancient times to the present day\, although primarily focused in the Northern Hemisphere where beekeeping is far more common. Its main functions are to determine the policies of the Organization\, supervise financial policies\, and review and approve the proposed programme budget. The Seventy-ninth World Health Assembly (WHA79) takes place in Geneva\, Switzerland from 18 to 23 May 2026\, bringing together delegations from WHO Member States to set global health policy and advance the Organization’s strategic priorities. It will build upon the momentum of the last year’s 78th World Health Assembly\, which adopted the Global Action Plan on Climate Change and Health\, an updated road map for an enhanced global response to the adverse health effects of air pollution\, and the elevation of climate change as the first strategic objective of WHO’s Fourteenth General Programme of Work (GPW14\, 2025–2028). Het wordt elke zondagmorgen uitgezonden tussen 07:00 en 10:00 op NPO Radio 1. De beginmuziek is een bewerking van Vivaldi’s “Piccolo Concerto in C major” (RV 443). De tv editie wordt uitgezonden via NPO 2 op zondag\, vaak rond een thema. \nIn Slikken van de Heen werd veertig jaar geleden de resetknop ingedrukt. Door de bouw van de Deltawerken veranderde de natuur van zout naar zoet. Met de geur van watermunt in de neus ziet de filmploeg hoe fitissen en graspiepers zich voorbereiden op het broedseizoen. Europese bizons waden door het Krammer-Volkerak\, waar zoetwatermollusken leven. Tegelijk zijn sporen van het zoute verleden nog zichtbaar: zeekraal groeit in de oude slikken en vlak over de dam foerageren wulpen en zilverplevieren. DESCRIPTION:De Europese organisaties die aangesloten zijn bij de Association of European Coeliac Societies (AOECS) organiseren gedurende de maand mei workshops en voorlichtingsbijeenkomsten waarin extra aandacht gevraagd wordt voor coeliakie en NCGS (Non-Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). \nIemand met coeliakie (glutenintolerantie) kan niet tegen gluten. Gluten is een eiwit dat van nature voorkomt in tarwe (waaronder spelt)\, rogge en gerst (gort). Gluten zit in brood\, crackers\, pizza\, pasta\, paneermeel\, koek\, cake en taart. Het zit ook verstopt in de ingrediënten van soepen (bindmiddel\, vermicelli of vlees)\, in sauzen\, sommige snoepjes\, ijssoorten en bier.  Overstappen op producten van en met haver is geen optie want haver is vaak gecontamineerd (besmet) en daardoor niet zonder meer veilig te gebruiken in een glutenvrij dieet. Glutenvrij eten kan dan wel populair zijn als gezondheidsdieet maar voor mensen met coeliakie en NCGS is het geen hype\, het is gewoon medisch noodzakelijk!
