DESCRIPTION:Een groep Amsterdammers wil een referendum starten om de regels voor de toewijzing van sociale huurwoningen te veranderen\, ze vinden dat minimaal 25 procent van de woningen die vrijkomen naar Amsterdammers die geen urgentie of voorrangsregeling hebben moeten gaan. \nVolgens de initiatiefnemers is het nu ‘zinloos’ om zonder urgentie of voorrang te reageren op sociale huurwoningen en dit is geen toeval\, maar het gevolg van jarenlange politieke keuzes van de gemeente Amsterdam. Ze willen daarom een ‘evenwichtigere verdeling tussen voorrangsgroepen en andere woningzoekenden\, waarbij minimaal 25 procent van de vrijkomende zelfstandige corporatiewoningen beschikbaar komt voor Amsterdammers zonder urgentie of voorrang’\, niet incidenteel\, maar structureel\, geldend voor alle stadsdelen en het hele jaar door. Zodat iedereen een eerlijke kans krijgt op een passende woning. De initiatiefnemers zeggen dat met name Amsterdammers die tussen de 28 jaar en 55 jaar oud zijn en geen kinderen hebben in de knel komen. Zij kunnen namelijk geen gebruik maken van de voorrangsregelingen voor jongeren\, gezinnen en senioren. Zo kregen in 2022 slechts 22 woningzoekenden zonder urgentieverklaring een sociale huurwoning. Ook de Amsterdamse Federatie van Woningcorporaties was in de zomer van vorig jaar al kritisch op de vele voorrangsregelingen. Burgemeester Halsema schrijft in een brief aan de gemeenteraad dat ambtenaren al meerdere keren contact met de initiatiefnemers hebben gehad. De initiatiefnemers moeten nu duizend zogeheten ondersteuningsverklaringen ophalen om verder te mogen met het referendum. DESCRIPTION:Op 28 mei 2025 werd Blatten\, een gemeente en plaats in het Lötschental aan de oevers van Lonza\, in het Zwitserse kanton Wallis\, samen met de omliggende dalbodem voor 90% bedolven door een ijs- en steenlawine van 3 miljoen kubieke meter en nadien ontstond op de dalbodem stroomopwaarts een natuurlijk stuwmeer dat daar overgebleven huizen overstroomde. \nDe lawine bestond uit het omlaagstorten van een groot deel van de Birchgletsjer ten zuiden van het dorp\, die door het afbrokkelen van grote hoeveelheden puin van de hogergelegen top Kleines Nesthorn (3342 meter) instabiel geworden was. Vele huizen werden bedolven en verwoest. The mission is to explain to the people that emergency medical care is better performed with competent professionals; doctors\, specialists in emergency medicine\, nurses trained in emergency and acute care\, paramedics\, technicians\, support personnel competent and working in organized structures and systems dedicated to emergency medical care. To show to people and governments that this organization makes a difference in terms of morbidity\, mortality\, and cost-effectiveness. The 27th of May is the day when Emergency Medicine in Europe took its beginning. In London a group of visionary people signed the founding act of the European Society for Emergency Medicine. DESCRIPTION:Vroege Vogels is een live-radioprogramma\, tv-programma en online community van BNNVARA over natuur en milieu. \nIn het radioprogramma wordt het gesproken woord omlijst door licht klassieke muziek en salonmuziek. Het radioprogramma werd in 1978 voor het eerst uitgezonden door de VARA en is een van de langst lopende en best beluisterde radioprogramma’s van de publieke omroep. Het wordt elke zondagmorgen uitgezonden tussen 07:00 en 10:00 op NPO Radio 1. De beginmuziek is een bewerking van Vivaldi’s “Piccolo Concerto in C major” (RV 443). De tv editie wordt uitgezonden via NPO 2 op zondag\, vaak rond een thema. \nIn het voorjaar staan de spindotterbloem en het zomerklokje prachtig in bloei. Deze bijzondere planten groeien nog maar op een paar plekken bij riviergetijde. De Riviereilanden in de Nieuwe Maas overstromen zo’n twee keer per dag\, iets wat bijna nergens meer langs onze rivieren gebeurt. Tussen de scheepsvaart en industrie onder de rook van Rotterdam zijn een paar plekjes bewaard gebleven. In de oude griendbossen\, voor de wilgenteelt\, zingen zanglijsters en bouwt de bever een burcht. In nieuw gegraven slenken zoekt de watersnip naar eten en groeien jonge vissen op. Het meest bijzondere hier is ook bijna het kleinst: Vroege Vogels vindt hier onverwacht het getijdeslakje. DESCRIPTION:Africa Day (formerly African Freedom Day and African Liberation Day) is the annual commemoration of the foundation of the Organization of African Unity on 25 May 1963\, it is celebrated in various countries on the African continent as well as around the world. The organization was replaced by the African Union on 9 July 2002\, but the holiday continues to be celebrated on 25 May. \nOn 25 May 1963\, representatives of thirty African nations met in Addis Ababa\, Ethiopia\, hosted by Emperor Haile Selassie. By then more than two-thirds of the continent had achieved independence\, mostly from imperial European states. At this meeting\, the Organization of African Unity was founded\, with the initial aim to encourage the decolonization of Angola\, Mozambique\, South Africa and Southern Rhodesia. The organization pledged to support the work conducted by freedom fighters\, and remove military access to colonial nations. A charter was set out which sought to improve the living standards across member states. Selassie exclaimed\, “May this convention of union last 1\,000 years.” The charter was signed by all attendees on 26 May\, with the exception of Morocco. At that meeting\, Africa Freedom Day was renamed Africa Liberation Day. In 2002\, the OAU was replaced by the African Union. However\, the renamed celebration of Africa Day continues to be celebrated on 25 May in respect to the formation of the OAU. Africa Day continues to be celebrated both in Africa and around the world\, mostly on 25 May (although in some cases these periods of celebrations can be stretched out over a period of days or weeks). DESCRIPTION:The UN General Assembly\, by its resolution 60/119 of 8 December 2005\, requested the annual observance of the Week of Solidarity with the Peoples of Non-Self-Governing Territories. \nIn the UN Charter\, a Non-Self-Governing Territory is defined as a Territory “whose people have not yet attained a full measure of self-government”. In 1946\, several UN Member States identified a number of Territories under their administration that were not self-governing and placed them on a UN list. Countries administering Non-Self-Governing Territories are called administering Powers.
