Het wordt elke zondagmorgen uitgezonden tussen 07:00 en 10:00 op NPO Radio 1. De beginmuziek is een bewerking van Vivaldi’s “Piccolo Concerto in C major” (RV 443). De tv editie wordt uitgezonden via NPO 2 op zondag\, vaak rond een thema. \nLangs de oevers van de Oude Maas zijn oude wilgenbossen bewaard gebleven. Waar vroeger wilgen werden geknot voor hakhout\, liggen nu bossen vol cultuurhistorie en natuur. Het riviergetij zorgt voor bloeiende zomerklokjes en spindotterbloemen\, en ook de boomkronen van rottende wilgen blijken ideale plekken voor planten om te ontkiemen. Menno Bentveld ziet een bever zwemmen in de Rhoonse Grienden. Ook laat de zeldzame matkop zich zien in de bomen van Klein Profijt. DESCRIPTION:Een psychose is een psychiatrisch toestandsbeeld waarbij de patiënt gedurende een zekere periode het contact met de werkelijkheid geheel of gedeeltelijk kwijt is. \nBij een psychose spreekt men van positieve en negatieve symptomen. Positieve symptomen zijn symptomen die duidelijk bij iemand aanwezig zijn\, zoals hallucinaties en wanen. Het begrip negatief symptoom verwijst naar afwezigheid of vervlakking van iets\, bijvoorbeeld emotie\, spraak\, daadkracht of gedachten. Positieve symptomen zijn: \n\n    Wanen – Denkbeelden die niet overeenkomen met algemeen geaccepteerde opvattingen en of ideeën waarvan de patiënt niet af te brengen is met logisch redeneren. Vaak\, maar niet altijd\, is er ook sprake van paranoia; overmatige achterdocht die bijvoorbeeld leidt tot de inbeelding dat overal camera’s of microfoons verstopt zijn\, dat er complotten zijn\, of dat de persoon in kwestie gezocht wordt door de politie of door internationale veiligheidsdiensten.\n    Hallucinaties – Het waarnemen van zaken die er niet zijn\, zoals stemmen in het hoofd\, beelden\, geuren of aanrakingen.\n    Verward denken – Psychotici en hun omgeving hebben erg veel moeite elkaar te begrijpen doordat het denk- en uitdrukkingsproces veranderd is door de psychose. Het is chaotisch en of te langzaam of te snel. Het gedrag van de patiënt is door zijn omgeving vaak niet meer te plaatsen (en vice versa). De gedachtenstop\, waarbij de patiënt het gevoel heeft dat zijn gedachten plotseling volledig stoppen\, wordt als een ernstige vorm van denkstoornis gezien.\n    Verward spreken en schrijven – Zelfs als de gedachten van de patiënt samenhangend zijn kan hij problemen hebben deze in taal te uiten. Soms uit zich dit in gehaast spreken\, vreemde woordkeuzes of het gebruik van neologismen. Bij grotere verwarring kunnen ook verschijnselen als echolalie\, palilalie of glossolalie optreden.\n    Verstoorde emoties – Een patiënt kan versterkte emoties ervaren of totaal niet bij een situatie passende\, zoals lachen op een begrafenis. Ook kan iemand schijnbaar zonder reden plotseling emotioneel worden; hij of zij begint bijvoorbeeld ineens te huilen. DESCRIPTION:Since 2016\, the 23rd of May marks the annual EU Day Against Impunity for Genocide\, Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes. \nUnder the auspices of the Presidency of the Council of the EU in cooperation with the European Commission\, the Genocide Prosecution Network and Eurojust\, this initiative aims to raise awareness of the most heinous crimes of genocide\, crimes against humanity and war crimes. At the same time\, the EU Day Against Impunity is intended to promote national investigations and prosecutions\, to formally recognise the common efforts of the EU Member States and the European Union in enforcing international criminal law\, to address the position and participation of victims in criminal proceedings for these crimes\, and to reinvigorate Europe-wide commitment to the continuing fight against impunity for these crimes. The first EU Day Against Impunity took place on 23 May 2016. Since then\, the event has been attended by practitioners\, representatives of international tribunals\, Member States\, the European Institutions and international organisations\, non-governmental organisations\, academics\, lawyers\, journalists\, etc. The initiative represents the implementation of one of the measures decided in the Strategy of the Genocide Prosecution Network to combat impunity for the crime of genocide\, crimes against humanity and war crimes within the European Union and its Member States (Measure 7c). \nLinks:\nEU Day Against Impunity

DESCRIPTION:Sit-in door een groep Nederlandse ambtenaren die zich ernstige zorgen maakt over het aanhoudende Israëlische offensief in Gaza – dat volgens het Internationaal Gerechtshof bestempeld werd als plausibele genocide- en het Nederlandse beleid in reactie hierop. \nJe kent ze misschien van de sit-ins die elke donderdag om 12:00 plaatsvinden voor het Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken. Als ambtenaren zijn zij doordrongen van het belang van internationaal recht. Ze legden een eed af op de Grondwet\, inclusief artikel 90 waarin staat dat de regering de internationale rechtsorde bevordert. Het is aan de politiek om het beleid uiteen te zetten\, dat klopt. Maar ook de politiek heeft zich te houden aan onze Grondwet en aan internationaal verdragsrechtelijke verplichtingen. Het is aan ambtenaren om de politiek erop te wijzen wanneer beleid het internationaal recht (mogelijk) schaadt. En die taak – die plicht – nemen zij zeer serieus. Zij verwachten van onze regering dat zij zich onvermoeibaar in gaat zetten voor consistente naleving van het internationaal recht. Concreet stellen zij vier eisen aan de Nederlandse regering en verwachten wij van de regering dat alle diplomatieke middelen worden aangewend om onderstaande te bewerkstelligen: \n1. DESCRIPTION:  \nVerantwoordingsdag (populair: woensdag gehaktdag of kortweg gehaktdag) is in Nederland jaarlijks op de derde woensdag in mei de dag waarop de Rijksoverheid en de ministeries hun jaarverslagen presenteren aan de Tweede Kamer\, op dezelfde dag publiceert de Algemene Rekenkamer haar verslag van de controles op die jaarverslagen. \nVerantwoordingsdag bestaat sinds 2000. Voor die tijd werden het financieel jaarverslag en de departementale jaarverslagen – toen nog “Financiële Verantwoording” geheten – pas in september aan de Tweede Kamer gezonden. Op aandringen van de Tweede Kamer is dit tijdstip vervroegd\, omdat de Kamerleden het in het najaar te druk hebben met het voorbereiden van de begrotingsbesprekingen om nog veel tijd aan het financiële verslag te kunnen besteden. In de jaarverslagen wordt niet alleen gerapporteerd over hoeveel geld er is uitgegeven en waaraan. Ook wordt besproken welke concrete doelen men voor ogen had en hoeveel daarvan er uiteindelijk in het afgelopen jaar is bereikt. Bovendien komt de minister van Financiën sinds 2000 persoonlijk het verslag aan de Tweede Kamer brengen. Daarbij wordt een speciaal koffertje gebruikt\, net als het koffertje waarin de Miljoenennota zit op Prinsjesdag\, de derde dinsdag in september. Op het koffertje staat het Wapen van het Koninkrijk der Nederlanden met daaronder de tekst “DERDE WOENSDAG IN MEI”. In 2004 nam de Tweede Kamer een motie aan\, waarin de regering werd verzocht om daags na de derde woensdag in mei met het voltallige kabinet naar de Tweede Kamer te komen voor een plenair debat over het Rijksjaarverslag. Een Verantwoordingsdag hoort eigenlijk bij de Prinsjesdag van anderhalf jaar eerder: op Verantwoordingsdag 2011 liet het Kabinet zien wat er terecht was gekomen van de plannen voor 2010\, die op Prinsjesdag 2009 waren bekendgemaakt. \nLinks:\nVerantwoordingsdag

DESCRIPTION:World Bee Day is celebrated on 20 May\, on this day Anton Janša\, the pioneer of beekeeping\, was baptized in 1734. \nThe purpose of the international day is to acknowledge the role of bees and other pollinators for the ecosystem. The UN Member States approved Slovenia’s proposal to proclaim 20 May as World Bee Day in December 2017. Bees are winged insects that form a monophyletic clade Anthophila within the superfamily Apoidea of the order Hymenoptera\, with over 20\,000 known species in seven recognized families. Some species – including honey bees\, bumblebees\, and stingless bees – are social insects living in highly hierarchical colonies\, while over 90% of bee species – including mason bees\, carpenter bees\, leafcutter bees\, and sweat bees – are solitary. Members of the most well-known bee genus\, Apis (i.e. honey bees)\, are known to construct hexagonally celled waxy nests called hives. Unlike the closely related wasps and ants\, who are  carnivorous/omnivorous\, bees are herbivores that specifically feed on nectar (nectarivory) and pollen (palynivory)\, the former primarily as a carbohydrate source for metabolic energy\, and the latter primarily for protein and other nutrients for their larvae. They are found on every continent except Antarctica\, and in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants. The most common bees in the Northern Hemisphere are the Halictidae\, or sweat bees\, but they are small and often mistaken for wasps or flies. \nBees range in size from tiny stingless bee species\, whose workers are less than 2 millimeters long\, to the leafcutter bee Megachile pluto\, the largest species of bee\, whose females can attain a length of 39 millimeters. Vertebrate predators of bees include primates and birds such as bee-eaters; insect predators include beewolves and dragonflies. Bees are best known for their ecological roles as pollinators and\, in the case of the best-known species\, the western honey bee\, for producing honey\, a regurgitated and dehydrated viscous mixture of partially digested monosaccharides kept as food storage of the bee colony. Pollination management via bees is important both ecologically and agriculturally\, and the decline in wild bee populations has increased the demand and value of domesticated pollination by commercially managed hives of honey bees. Human beekeeping or apiculture (meliponiculture for stingless bees) has been practiced as a discipline of animal husbandry for millennia\, since at least the times of Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. Bees have appeared in mythology and folklore\, through all phases of art and literature from ancient times to the present day\, although primarily focused in the Northern Hemisphere where beekeeping is far more common. DESCRIPTION:The World Health Assembly (WHA) is the forum through which the World Health Organization (WHO) is governed by its 193 member states\, it is the world’s highest health policy setting body and is composed of health ministers from member states. \nThe members of the WHA generally meet every year in May in Geneva\, Switzerland\, at the Palace of Nations\, the location of WHO Headquarters. The main tasks of the WHA are to decide major policy questions\, as well as to approve the WHO work programme and budget and elect its Director-General (every fifth year) and annually to elect ten members to renew part of its executive board. Its main functions are to determine the policies of the Organization\, supervise financial policies\, and review and approve the proposed programme budget. The Seventy-ninth World Health Assembly (WHA79) takes place in Geneva\, Switzerland from 18 to 23 May 2026\, bringing together delegations from WHO Member States to set global health policy and advance the Organization’s strategic priorities. It will build upon the momentum of the last year’s 78th World Health Assembly\, which adopted the Global Action Plan on Climate Change and Health\, an updated road map for an enhanced global response to the adverse health effects of air pollution\, and the elevation of climate change as the first strategic objective of WHO’s Fourteenth General Programme of Work (GPW14\, 2025–2028).
