DESCRIPTION:Het (voormalig) kabinet geeft geen ene moer om onderwijs en wetenschap\, in de voorjaarsnota zijn zelfs extra bezuinigingen aangekondigd: Dit is geen bezuiniging meer\, dit is een regelrechte sloopoperatie. \n25.000 mensen stonden er op het Malieveld\, en tijdens de estafettestakingen kwamen nog eens 32.500 mensen in actie. Toch gaat het kabinet door met de sloop van ons onderwijs: in de voorjaarsnota zijn zelfs extra bezuinigingen van 400 miljoen aangekondigd. Daarom wordt op 10 juni 2025 opnieuw door medewerkers en studenten in het hoger onderwijs het werk neergelegd\, de locatie van de stakingsmanifestatie is (verplaatst naar) De Dam in Amsterdam. De eis blijft staan: alle bezuinigingen moeten van tafel. SUMMARY:Staking spoorwegpersoneel NS / Petitie solidariteit
DESCRIPTION:Op dinsdag 10 juni 2025 rijden er in heel Nederland geen NS-treinen als gevolg van een staking in West-Nederland georganiseerd door vakbonden. \nDe NS heeft besloten om in heel Nederland geen treinen te laten. De ontevredenheid en actiebereidheid onder het NS-personeel is groot. Dat bleek tijdens de ledenraadpleging die de FNV de afgelopen weken heeft gehouden. Ruim 90% stemde volmondig voor stakingen. De NS heeft niet gereageerd op het ultimatum van de vakbonden voor een betere cao en daarmee zijn stakingen niet meer af te wenden. Spoorwegpersoneel verdient beter: op zijn minst compensatie van de inflatie. Terwijl de leden van de Raad van Bestuur van NS er vorig jaar ruim €20.000 bijkregen\, moeten de medewerkers het doen met een loonbod dat met 2\,5% ver onder inflatieniveau ligt. Daarbij komt dat de werkgever geen duimbreed toegeeft op cruciale arbeidsvoorwaarden als de zwaarwerkregeling en onregelmatige diensten. Dit alles zorgt voor een steeds hogere werkdruk. Het is dan ook niet vreemd dat het ziekteverzuim bij de NS torenhoog is. Zonder verbeteringen in de cao zullen ook reizigers daar last van gaan krijgen\, want het ziekteverzuim heeft logischerwijs invloed op dienstverlening en dienstregeling. Staken is het laatste drukmiddel. WijReizenSamen steunt hun strijd voor betere arbeidsvoorwaarden\, waaronder een betere zwaarwerkregeling (RVU)\, gelijke arbeidsvoorwaarden voor gelijke omstandigheden en voor priodagen thuis en een vuilwerkregeling. Ook verdienen NS-medewerkers een fatsoenlijke beloning. DESCRIPTION:Glyphosate-based herbicides (GBHs) are the world’s most widely used weed control agents. Public health concerns have increased since the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified glyphosate as a probable human carcinogen in 2015. \nTo further investigate the health effects of glyphosate and GBHs\, the Ramazzini Institute launched the Global Glyphosate Study (GGS)\, which is designed to test a wide range of toxicological outcomes. Reported in the research ‘Carcinogenic effects of long-term exposure from prenatal life to glyphosate and glyphosate-based herbicides in Sprague–Dawley rats‘ are the results of the carcinogenicity arm of the GGS. Glyphosate and two GBHs\, Roundup Bioflow used in the European Union (EU) and RangerPro used in the U.S.\, were administered to male and female Sprague–Dawley (SD) rats\, beginning at gestational day 6 (via maternal exposure) through 104 weeks of age. Glyphosate was administered through drinking water at three doses: the EU acceptable daily intake (ADI) of 0.5 mg/kg body weight/day\, 5 mg/kg body weight/day and the EU no-observed adverse effect level (NOAEL) of 50 mg/kg body weight/day. The two GBH formulations were administered at the same glyphosate-equivalent doses. \nIn all 3 treatment groups\, statistically significant dose-related increased trends or increased incidences of benign and malignant tumors at multiple anatomic sites were observed compared to historical and concurrent controls. These tumors arose in haemolymphoreticular tissues (leukemia)\, skin\, liver\, thyroid\, nervous system\, ovary\, mammary gland\, adrenal glands\, kidney\, urinary bladder\, bone\, endocrine pancreas\, uterus and spleen (hemangiosarcoma). Increased incidences occurred in both sexes. Most of these involved tumors that are rare in SD rats (background incidence < 1%) with 40% of leukemias deaths in the treated groups occurring before 52 weeks of age and increased early deaths were also observed for other solid tumors. \nGlyphosate and GBHs at exposure levels corresponding to the EU ADI and the EU NOAEL caused dose-related increases in incidence of multiple benign and malignant tumors in SD rats of both sexes. Early-life onset and mortality were observed for multiple tumors. These results provide robust evidence supporting IARC’s conclusion that there is “sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity [of glyphosate] in experimental animals”. Het wordt elke zondagmorgen uitgezonden tussen 07:00 en 10:00 op NPO Radio 1. De beginmuziek is een bewerking van Vivaldi’s “Piccolo Concerto in C major” (RV 443). De tv editie wordt uitgezonden via NPO 2 op zondag\, vaak rond een thema. \nTwee lammetjes worden geboren\, precies op het moment dat het Vroege Vogels-team aanwezig is. Tussen de heuvels van Zuid-Limburg grazen deze Mergellandschapen op de kalkrijke graslanden. Vroege Vogels bivakkeert in het Gerendal en verkent de omgeving. Hier is ‘Operatie Peperboompje’ actief\, een reddingsactie voor bedreigde plantensoorten als knikkend nagelkruid. In de Gulp zoeken onderzoekers naar jonge beekforellen. Geelgorzen\, zanglijsters\, zwartkoppen en graspiepers vliegen door het Limburgse landschap\, terwijl kieviten en witgatjes profiteren van het kalkmoeras. DESCRIPTION:Het Rapalje Zomerfolk Festival vindt plaats op 7 en 8 juni 2023 op de Drafbaan bij Stadspark van Groningen. \nOp het festival kun je genieten van folkmuziek uit alle windstreken en op een buitenlocatie midden in de natuur. Het evenement biedt live optredens van de meest getalenteerde en populaire folkmuzikanten uit de hele wereld evenals een variatie aan andere bijzondere activiteiten zoals workshops\, boogschieten en demonstraties van traditionele ambachten. Het Rapalje Zomerfolk Festival is in 2023 bovendien verkozen tot het beste festival van Europa bij de CeltCast Fantasy Awards. Gehouden in het mooiste gedeelte van het Stadspark\, de Zonneweide\, kun je genieten van de levendige sfeer en muziek terwijl je tegelijkertijd kennis kunt maken met de cultuur en tradities van  landen waar de Keltische folk leeft. Verder is er een grote selectie aan heerlijk eten en drinken\, een gezellige markt\, kinderdorp en vele workshops\,\, volledig passend bij het thema. \nRapalje is een Nederlandse band die Ierse\, Schotse en Nederlandse folkmuziek speelt. De zang bij de muziek is zowel Engels- als Nederlandstalig. De bandleden William\, Maceál en David spelen op muziekinstrumenten zoals tinwhistle\, low whistle\, gitouki\, trekmelodica\, mondharmonica\, bodhrán\, theekistbas en doedelzak. Gekleed in kilt speelt de groep op veel verschillende gelegenheden\, zoals (folk)festivals\, (theater)concerten en (middeleeuwse) feesten. In de oorspronkelijke samenstelling bestond Rapalje uit Dieb den Boer\, William van der Laan en Marcel Meijer (Maceál). David Myles is er later bij gekomen; eerst als vaste gast en later als volwaardig bandlid. In april 2022 heeft Dieb om gezondheidsredenen de band verlaten. Rapalje vierde in 2020 het 25-jarig jubileum van de band\, echter vanwege Covid is de daadwerkelijke viering uitgesteld tot de eerstvolgende editie van hun eigen festival: het Rapalje Zomerfolk Festival in het Stadspark van Groningen in 2022. \nLinks:\nRapalje Zomerfolk Festival

DESCRIPTION:De Roparun (“Rotterdam Parijs run”) is een non-stop estafetteloop die sinds 1992 wordt gehouden\, voorheen vond de loop plaats tussen Rotterdam en Parijs\, tegenwoordig zijn er twee routes: vanuit Frankrijk\, met Clastres als startplaats\, en Enschede naar Rotterdam. \nIn het pinksterweekeinde\, van zaterdagmiddag tot en met maandagmiddag\, moeten de deelnemers een afstand van ongeveer 500 kilometer afleggen. Tot 2004 liepen de deelnemers\, destijds nog in het Hemelvaartweekend\, van Rotterdam naar Parijs\, maar sinds 2004 start de run in Parijs en is de finish op de Coolsingel in Rotterdam. Al vanaf het eerste jaar is het ophalen van geld het hoofddoel van deze sportieve prestatie. Het geld is bedoeld om projecten te financieren die het leven van mensen met kanker\, voor zover mogelijk\, veraangenamen. “Leven toevoegen aan de dagen\, waar vaak geen dagen meer kunnen worden toegevoegd aan het leven” is het motto van de Stichting Roparun. \nLinks:\nRoparun

DESCRIPTION:Elke eerste vrijdag van juni is het DonutDag (Donut Day / Doughnut Day)\, een buurtfeest waar gratis donuts door het Leger des Heils worden weggegeven. \nDe donut werd bekend toen lang geleden\, aan het front van de Eerste Wereldoorlog\, jonge heilssoldates van het Leger des Heils verse donuts uitdeelden aan infanteriesoldaten (Engels: doughboy). De vrouwen die de donuts uitdeelden\, werden al snel ‘donutmeisjes’ (Engels: doughnut dollies’) genoemd. De donut werd een symbool van alles wat het Leger des Heils deed om de ontberingen te verlichten van de aan de frontlinie vechtende mensen. Sindsdien deelt het Leger overal ter wereld donuts uit. DESCRIPTION:Food safety is the absence — or safe\, acceptable levels — of hazards in food that may harm the health of consumers. \nFood-borne hazards can be microbiological\, chemical or physical in nature and are often invisible to the plain eye: bacteria\, viruses\, or pesticide residues are some examples. Food safety has a critical role in assuring that food stays safe at every stage of the food chain – from production to harvest\, processing\, storage\, distribution\, all the way to preparation and consumption. With an estimated 600 million cases of foodborne illnesses annually\, unsafe food is a threat to human health and economies\, disproportionally affecting vulnerable and marginalized people\, especially women and children\, populations affected by conflict\, and migrants. An estimated three million people around the world — in developed and developing countries — die every year from food and waterborne disease. Food is the starting point for our energy\, our health and our well-being. We often take for granted that it is safe\, but in an increasingly complex and interconnected world where food value chains are growing longer\, standards and regulations are that much more important in keeping us safe. Food safety is key to achieving several of the Sustainable Development Goals and World Food Safety Day brings it into the spotlight\, to help prevent\, detect and manage foodborne risks. Safe food contributes to economic prosperity\, boosting agriculture\, market access\, tourism and sustainable development. \n\nGoal 2 — There is no food security without food safety. Ending hunger is about all people having access to safe\, nutritious and sufficient food all year round.\nGoal 3 — Food safety has a direct impact on people’s health and nutritional intake. Since day 1\, Dr. Jane Goodall has been an enthusiatic Patron\, each and every year. Swifts Without Frontiers invites all NGO’s\, municipalities\, individuals\, companies\, schools and any collectivity caring for Swifts to celebrate that day by communicating about Swifts (whichever species) and by organizing events. WSD was initially inspired by other World Days like the World Sparrow Day\, then by the World Chimpanzee Day. The date of June 7 was chozen as the best “compromise date” between both hemispheres and all the different Swift species of the world. DESCRIPTION:The Budapest Pride Community Festival is an annual event\, organized by two sub-projects: festival programs and festival communication. \nThe festival is a nationwide series of events that starts with the opening ceremony and ends with the march. Every year\, those interested can take part in countless colorful programs\, and program organizers include civil organizations\, welcoming spaces\, LGBTQ associations\, friendship groups\, psychologists\, informal groups\, private individuals\, and the list goes on. Most of the events are organized in the capital\, but every year more and more settlements outside Budapest join. In 2025\, the Budapest Pride Parade will be 30 years old. The Budapest Pride Community will celebrate the work and achievements of the past 30 years\, but also the fact that LGBTQ people have been part of Hungarian society not only for 30 years\, but since the beginning. Every year the Budapest Pride March is organised in close cooperation with the police\, and 2025 will be the seventh time we march without barriers and without security access points. The number of counter-demonstrators has been decreasing year by year\, and there have been no physical atrocities for quite some time. They hope that on the 30th anniversary more people will join us than ever before. The march will end with the now traditional Rainbow Party in Budapest Park\, the biggest LGBTQ party in the country. DESCRIPTION:Op vrijdag 6 juni 2025 rijden er in heel Nederland geen NS-treinen als gevolg van een staking in Midden-Nederland georganiseerd door vakbonden. \nEen groot deel van de treinen rijdt door de provincie Utrecht. Ook wordt vanuit Utrecht het landelijke NS-treinverkeer aangestuurd\, hierdoor rijden er in het hele land geen treinen. De ontevredenheid en actiebereidheid onder het NS-personeel is groot. Dat bleek tijdens de ledenraadpleging die de FNV de afgelopen weken heeft gehouden. Ruim 90% stemde volmondig voor stakingen. De NS heeft niet gereageerd op het ultimatum van de vakbonden voor een betere cao en daarmee zijn stakingen niet meer af te wenden. Spoorwegpersoneel verdient beter: op zijn minst compensatie van de inflatie. Terwijl de leden van de Raad van Bestuur van NS er vorig jaar ruim €20.000 bijkregen\, moeten de medewerkers het doen met een loonbod dat met 2\,5% ver onder inflatieniveau ligt. Daarbij komt dat de werkgever geen duimbreed toegeeft op cruciale arbeidsvoorwaarden als de zwaarwerkregeling en onregelmatige diensten. Dit alles zorgt voor een steeds hogere werkdruk. Het is dan ook niet vreemd dat het ziekteverzuim bij de NS torenhoog is. Zonder verbeteringen in de cao zullen ook reizigers daar last van gaan krijgen\, want het ziekteverzuim heeft logischerwijs invloed op dienstverlening en dienstregeling. Staken is het laatste drukmiddel. WijReizenSamen steunt hun strijd voor betere arbeidsvoorwaarden\, waaronder een betere zwaarwerkregeling (RVU)\, gelijke arbeidsvoorwaarden voor gelijke omstandigheden en voor priodagen thuis en een vuilwerkregeling. Ook verdienen NS-medewerkers een fatsoenlijke beloning.
