DESCRIPTION:Day of the Seafarer is recognized by the United Nations as an observance day which takes place every year on 25 June. \nIt is organized by the International Maritime Organization and aims to increase awareness among the general public of the world’s seafarers for their unique\, and all-too-often overlooked\, contribution they make to the well-being of all of us. The Day of the Seafarer was established in a resolution adopted by the 2010 Diplomatic Conference in Manila to adopt the revised STCW Convention. Its stated purpose is to recognize the unique contribution made by seafarers from all over the world to international seaborne trade\, the world economy and civil society as a whole. The resolution “encourages Governments\, shipping organizations\, companies\, shipowners and all other parties concerned to duly and appropriately promote the Day of the Seafarer and take action to celebrate it meaningfully”. \nLinks:\nDay of the seafarer

DESCRIPTION:Op 28 juni 2024 gaat Extinction Rebellion de haven heroveren met een massale disruptieve actie. \nDe Rotterdamse haven zorgt voor 20% van de Nederlandse CO2 uitstoot. Het is de meest vervuilende haven van Europa. We zijn er letterlijk ziek van! Daarom blijft Extinction Rebellion het Havenbedrijf en de stad Rotterdam onder druk zetten om hun verantwoordelijkheid te nemen en de haven ingrijpend te veranderen in een plek waarop Rotterdammers trots kunnen zijn\, omdat die bijdraagt aan klimaatrechtvaardigheid en sociaal welzijn. Op 28 juni wordt opnieuw de haven heroverd met de derde massale disruptieve actie. De eisen: een einde aan de fossiele haven\, groene banen\, gezonde lucht en dat burgers mogen meebeslissen over hun eigen toekomst. Tijd voor verandering\, tijd voor actie!!
