SUMMARY:Mail voor menselijk asielbeleid!
DESCRIPTION:De noodwet is van tafel – een belangrijke overwinning voor de rechtsstaat\, maar we kunnen niet achteroverleunen. \nWat nu als ‘compromis’ wordt gepresenteerd\, is in werkelijkheid een nieuw asociaal contract dat mensenrechten onder druk zet en de kwetsbaren verder in de knel duwt. Roep politici op om op te komen voor de democratie en de mensenrechten te verdedigen. Zij zijn de waakhonden van onze rechtsstaat en moeten hun morele kompas laten zien! Wijs hen op het misbruik van spoedwetprocedures en het gevaar voor onze rechten als deze ‘crisismaatregelen’ de norm worden. Laten we druk zetten op de kamer en ook deze wet van tafel krijgen. De gehele Tweede Kamer heeft een verantwoordelijkheid om het kabinet te controleren. Zowel op hoe democratisch het proces is\, als op hoe menselijk de inhoud van de wetgeving is. Elk tweede Kamerlid heeft beloofd om zich aan de grondwet en internationale mensenrechten te houden. Jij mag kiezen wie je wilt mailen en wilt overtuigen. \nLinks:\nMail voor menselijk asielbeleid!

DESCRIPTION:Deadliest Year for Migrants Spurs New United Nations (UN) Recommendations to Protect Lives and Rights. \nThe report ‘Global Compact for Safe\, Orderly and Regular Migration‘ issued by the UN Secretary-General recommends concrete steps to reduce the risk that migrants die or go missing\, including the need to provide access to humanitarian actors to deliver assistance to those in distress and improve data collection about those who are missing. The recommendations come in the 2024 report on the implementation of the Global Compact for Safe\, Orderly and Regular Migration (GCM). The report\, issued every two years\, highlights progress\, gaps and opportunities\, offering concrete recommendations to advance GCM commitments and improve migration governance. Since 2014\, close to 70\,000 migrant deaths and disappearances have been recorded\, and 2023 was the deadliest year on record\, with nearly 8\,600 deaths.  “Each one of these deaths is a preventable tragedy\,” said International Organization for Migration Director General and coordinator of the UN Network on Migration Amy Pope. “This GCM report lays out specific\, and much needed\, steps to save lives and protect the rights of migrants.” As called for by the General Assembly\, the Secretary-General’s third report on GCM implementation introduces key recommendations on providing humanitarian assistance to migrants in distress and strengthening cooperation on missing migrants\, including concrete proposals to prevent migrants from dying or going missing\,  enhance search and identification efforts\, support affected families\, provide justice\, accountability and redress\, collect data on migrant deaths and disappearances and share migration forecasting data to optimize humanitarian assistance. \nThe report recognizes that significant strides have been made in recent years\, such as integrating migration into national development plans and the expansion of safe and regular pathways for migration. However\, it underscores persistent and severe challenges that demand urgent attention. Irregular migration routes continue to expose migrants to grave risks\, increasing their vulnerability to exploitation\, abuse or endanger their lives. Many migrants face barriers to accessing essential services\, such as healthcare and education. Harmful narratives and stereotypes about migration and migrants undermine efforts to protect their dignity and rights. To support Member States in overcoming these challenges\, the report introduces a new voluntary framework of indicators. This framework provides a roadmap for evaluating GCM implementation\, aligning migration policies with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and improving migration data. Member States are urged to adopt these indicators in their national GCM reviews\, implement the actionable recommendations outlined in the report to save lives and enhance humanitarian assistance and actively participate in regional reviews to share best practices and strengthen multilateral cooperation. \nLinks:\nSecretary-General report 2024

SUMMARY:Stop de zondebokpolitiek! Geef haat geen macht!
DESCRIPTION:Op zaterdag 14 december 2024 organiseren Platform Stop Racisme & Fascisme en New Neighbours een protest tegen de zondebokpolitiek van het PVV-kabinet\, de demonstratie begint om 13:00 en start op het Domplein in Utrecht. \nJe kunt met je organisatie de onderstaande oproeptekst hier ondertekenen:\nIn rap tempo volgen de racistische voorstellen in de Tweede Kamer elkaar op. Zo dreigt het PVV-kabinet met het intrekken van paspoorten\, wil het mensen met een vluchtachtergrond deporteren naar oorlogsgebied en probeert het een mediakanaal te verbieden dat zich kritisch opstelt tegenover de Nederlandse medeplichtigheid aan genocide. Het racistische debat over ‘integratie’ is terug van nooit weggeweest. \nHoewel het aantal mensen op de vlucht dat naar Nederland komt niet is toegenomen\, zorgt de doelbewuste afbraak van de opvang\, verkoop van betaalbare huisvesting en het brute Europese grensbeleid ervoor dat het lijkt alsof er een probleem is. Maar de ‘asielcrisis’ is doelbewust door partijen zoals de VVD gecreëerd. \nMoslims en vluchtelingen worden zo gebruikt als zondebok om de aandacht af te leiden van de afbraak van de zorg\, het onderwijs en betaalbare huisvesting. Hierdoor nemen online intimidatie en fascistisch geweld tegen bijvoorbeeld opvangcentra toe. \nOp cynische wijze gebruikt extreemrechts Joods leed als stok om moslims mee te slaan. Dezelfde politici die de antisemitische complottheorie over ‘omvolking’ omarmen\, zeggen nu op te komen voor de Joodse gemeenschap. Hierbij proberen ze doelbewust het onderscheid tussen antisemitisme en kritiek op Israël te verwarren. Dit is ontoelaatbaar. De strijd tegen moslimhaat\, Jodenhaat en andere vormen van racisme is innig verbonden. \nTegelijkertijd probeert dit PVV-kabinet het verzet hiertegen onmogelijk te maken door ons recht op protest uit te hollen. Straks kun je alleen demonstreren als het kabinet het met je eens is – maar waarom zou je dan nog demonstreren? \nDe maat is vol. Wij weigeren ons neer te leggen bij deze afbraak van democratische verworvenheden. En wij laten ons niet bespelen door verdeel-en-heers politiek. Alleen door de krachten te bundelen\, kunnen we dit tij keren! Geef haat geen macht! \nLinks:\nStop de zondebokpolitiek! Geef haat geen macht!
