DESCRIPTION:Op 7 januari 2026 schoten agenten van de immigratiedienst ICE Renee Good dood\, terwijl ze verslag deed van wat de agenten in haar buurt deden; twee weken later werd ook Alex Pretti doodgeschoten\, terwijl hij een ICE-actie filmde en iemand wilde helpen die door een agent werd aangevallen en ook gebruikten ICE agenten een jongetje van vijf als lokaas om zijn ouders te arresteren. \nDit gebeurt nu\, in de VS. Gemaskerde en zwaarbewapende ICE‑agenten voeren een klopjacht uit op mensen zonder verblijfspapieren. Er lijken voor hen geen wetten te bestaan. Hele groepen mensen van kleur zijn doodsbang. Kinderen durven niet meer naar school of buiten te spelen. Mensen durven niet meer naar hun werk of zelfs naar de supermarkt. Dit moet nú stoppen! Roep Kristi Noem\, de minister van Binnenlandse Veiligheid\, op om te stoppen met de gemilitariseerde handhaving van immigratiecontroles. In tientallen steden in de Verenigde Staten gaan mensen de straat op om de terugtrekking van ICE te eisen. DESCRIPTION:The report ‘Pushbacks Report 2025‘ documents pushbacks from EU Member States to third countries in 2025\, highlighting ongoing violations of international and EU law. \nIt draws from NGO reports\, research groups\, human rights organizations\, UN agencies\, government services and interviews with organizations active in Hungary\, Latvia\, Lithuania\, Greece\, Poland\, Croatia\, Bulgaria and Romania. In total\, 80\,865 pushbacks were recorded. Overall\, the normalization of pushbacks persists\, requiring stronger enforcement and greater accountability from both Member States and EU institutions. At the same time\, 2025 has witnessed a trend towards externalization of border management. The EU finances third countries to prevent people seeking protection to reach EU borders\, resulting in offshoring human rights violations. The result is an increase in pullbacks and a decrease in pushbacks on certain routes. In 2025\, the Libyan coast guard\, financially and logistically supported by the EU\, prevented 27\,116 people from reaching EU borders. Poland pushed back 14\,754 asylum seekers\, followed by Bulgaria whose authorities have executed 13\,568 pushbacks. DESCRIPTION:In opposition to the ban by the UK government on Palestine Action\, almost 3\,000 people have been arrested for holding signs as part of the Lift The Ban campaign\, leading to a 660% rise in UK “terrorism” arrests in the year to end of September 2025. \nOn February 13th 2026\, the High Court ruled that the proscription is unlawful on two grounds. Nobody was arrested that day despite around 150 people holding the same signs that had previously led to arrests. The Divisional Court has now granted the government permission to appeal the Judicial Review ruling. It has also decided to “stay” the quashing of the proscription pending this appeal – meaning the proscription of Palestine Action remains in place for now. DESCRIPTION:Bij een politieoptreden in een AZC in Zeist\, op 19 mei 2026\, ontstond een vechtpartij met de politie na een optreden van een hondengeleider. \nIn de media ligt de nadruk vooral op de achtergrond van de betrokken man en op de verklaring van de politie dat zij ter plaatse kwamen naar aanleiding van een melding van bedreiging en vernieling. De politie stelt dat ingrijpen noodzakelijk was om de veiligheid van aanwezigen te waarborgen.
