SUMMARY:Landelijke staking zwaarwerkregeling / Stakingen in openbaar vervoer in week voor Prinsjesdag 2024
DESCRIPTION:Er wordt gestaakt in de week voor Prinsjesdag voor het behoud en verbetering van de Regeling voor Vervroegde Uittreding (RVU) voor werknemers in zware beroepen\, de huidige zwaarwerk-regeling stopt in 2025. \nOp maandag 9 september 2024 leggen schoonmakers uit heel Nederland het werk neer en verzamelen zij zich op Schiphol om te staken. Met deze actie eisen zij dat de politiek zorgt voor een regeling waarmee schoonmakers en andere mensen in zware beroepen eerder kunnen stoppen met werken. Het is voor het eerst in tien jaar dat er een landelijke staking plaatsvindt van schoonmakers. Terwijl Nederlanders steeds langer moeten werken\, vaak tot minimaal 67 jaar\, is dit voor mensen in zware beroepen – zoals schoonmakers – niet vol te houden. Veel schoonmakers beginnen al jong met werken en kunnen soms wel 50 jaar of langer moeten doorwerken voordat ze met pensioen kunnen. \nOp 10\, 11 en 12 september 2024 zijn er acties in het Stads- en Streekvervoer en bij de Nederlandse Spoorwegen. Nu duidelijk is welke partijen het kabinet gaan vormen\, laat ook de Openbaar Vervoer (OV) – sector van zich horen. De OV-werknemers willen dat het nieuwe kabinet met goede plannen komt\, zodat werknemers eerder kunnen stoppen met zwaar werk. Er is een einde gekomen aan het geduld van het OV-personeel. Ook zij eisen een betere regeling als het gaat om mensen met zwaar werk. Die moeten eerder met pensioen kunnen\, vinden de werknemers en FNV. De sector is zich bewust van het feit dat de acties tot overlast voor de reizigers zal leiden. Dat betreuren de OV-werknemers\, maar ze rekenen ook op begrip. DESCRIPTION:According to the Italian Competition Authority\, in some cases the companies may have used supplies from laboratories employing workers who would receive inadequate wages and they would work hours in excess of the legal limits and in inadequate health and safety conditions\, in contrast to the boasted levels of production excellence. \nThe Italian Competition Authority\, also as a result of the activity carried out by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Court of Milan which has been widely published by the press\, has opened investigation proceedings against some companies in Armani Group (Giorgio Armani S.p.A. e G.A. Operations S.p.A.)\, and separate investigation proceedings against some companies in Dior Group (Christian Dior Couture S.A.\, Christian Dior Italia S.r.l. e Manufactures Dior S.r.l.) for possible unlawful conducts in the promotion and sale of clothes’ items and accessories\, in violation of the provisions of the Consumer Code. In both cases\, the companies may have issued untrue statements about their ethics and social responsibility\, in particular with regard to working conditions and compliance with the law by their suppliers. Moreover\, the companies emphasised craftsmanship and quality. However\, in order to make certain articles and clothing accessories the companies allegedly used supplies from workshops and factories employing workers who would receive inadequate wages. In addition\, such workers would work hours in excess of the legal limits and in inadequate health and safety conditions\, in contrast to the production excellence levels the companies pride themselves. Authority’s officials\, with the support of the Special Antitrust Unit of the Italian Financial Police (Guardia di Finanza)\, carried out inspections at the premises of the companies Giorgio Armani S.p.A. and G.A. DESCRIPTION:In 2014\, the United Nations General Assembly declared 15 July as World Youth Skills Day\, to celebrate the strategic importance of equipping young people with skills for employment\, decent work and entrepreneurship. \nSince then\, World Youth Skills Day events have provided a unique opportunity for dialogue between young people\, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions\, firms\, employers’ and workers’ organizations\, policy makers and development partners. Participants have highlighted the ever-increasing significance of skills as the world is embarking on a transition towards a sustainable model of development. Education and training are central to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda. The vision of the Incheon Declaration: Education 2030 is fully captured by Sustainable Development Goal 4 “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”. Education 2030 devotes considerable attention to technical and vocational skills development\, specifically regarding access to affordable quality. \nTechnical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET); the acquisition of technical and vocational skills for employment\, decent work and entrepreneurship; the elimination of gender disparity and ensuring access for the vulnerable. In this context\, TVET is expected to address the multiple demands of an economic\, social and environmental nature by helping youth and adults develop the skills they need for employment\, decent work and entrepreneurship\, promoting equitable\, inclusive and sustainable economic growth\, and supporting transitions to green economies and environmental sustainability. \nTVET can equip youth with the skills required to access the world of work\, including skills for self-employment. TVET can also improve responsiveness to changing skill-demands by companies and communities\, increase productivity and increase wage levels. TVET can reduce access barriers to the world of work\, for example through work-based learning\, and ensuring that skills gained are recognised and certified. TVET can also offer skills development opportunities for low-skilled people who are under- or unemployed\, out of school youth and individuals not in education\, employment and training (NEETs). World Youth Skills Day 2021 will again take place in a challenging context due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. World Youth Skills Day 2021 will pay tribute to the resilience and creativity of youth through the crisis. DESCRIPTION:The logo may be obtained from Sex Workers Outreach Project USA (SWOP-USA)\nJaarlijks wordt op 17 december de Internationale Dag Stop Geweld Tegen Sekswerkers (Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers) georganiseerd\, deze dag werd in 2003 voor het eerst erkend als herdenkingsdag om de slachtoffers van de Green River Killer in Seattle (Washington) en andere vermoordde prostituees te herdenken. \nEr werd gekozen voor 17 december omdat op die dag in 2003 de Green River Killer werd veroordeeld. Op deze dag worden alle sekswerkers slachtoffers van 2019 wereldwijd herdacht en komen mensen uit steden over de hele wereld samen om te strijden voor de rechten van alle sekswerkers! \nGreen River Killer:\nDe Green River Killer (Gary Leon Ridgway) had minimaal 48 vrouwen in de staat Washington vermoord voordat hij werd opgepakt in 2001. Uit het politieonderzoek bleek dat hij in 1982 is begonnen met het vermoorden van vrouwen. Door een DNA-test voor een ander onderzoek liep hij uiteindelijk in 2001 tegen de lamp. Ridgway vertelde de politie dat hij langs Route 99 in South King County (Washington) 75 tot 80 vrouwen heeft vermoord. Dat waren hoofdzakelijk prostituees en meisjes die van huis waren weggelopen. Uiteindelijk pleit Ridgway schuldig aan 48 moorden. Hij werd veroordeeld en kreeg meerdere keren levenslang. \nStop het Geweld Tegen Sekswerkers:\nZoals je vaak ziet richt geweld zich tot bepaalde groepen mensen\, dat geldt ook voor het geweld tegen sekswerkers. Het zijn de transvrouwen en gekleurde vrouwen\, de druggebruikers en immigranten die het vaakst te maken krijgen met (grof) geweld. Wil je het geweld tegen sekswerkers beëindigen dan zal je eerst transfobie\, racisme\, stigmatisering en criminalisering van drugsgebruik en ook vreemdelingenhaat moeten bestrijden. Er is nog een lange weg te gaan… \nRed Umbrella Day:\nHet symbool van de Internationale beweging van sekswerkers is de rode paraplu. De eerste keer dat men naar de rode paraplu greep was in het jaar 2001 op 2 juni\, de International Whore’s Day (IWD). Italiaanse sekswerkers gingen de Venetiaanse straten op om te protesteren tegen inhumane werkomstandigheden en mensenrechtenschendingen. Omdat het pijpenstelen regende waren paraplu’s nodig en dan ligt de kleur rood voor de hand. Uiteindelijk heeft in 2005 het Internationaal comité voor de rechten van sekswerkers in Europa (IRCSE) de rode paraplu als officieel symbool van weerstand tegen discriminatie aangenomen. In China heeft de rode paraplu ook een speciale betekenis\, daar is het een belangrijk gelukssymbool.
