DESCRIPTION:🎉 The Japanese government is encouraging companies to introduce a 4 day-work week. \nWhy is it so important? Countless studies show a 32-hour week for the same pay improved worker well-being\, the health of families\, gender equality\, pollution\, employment rates and more. It even boosted productivity and efficiency in the workplace. Japan is known for its very hardworking culture. I mean\, they even have a term for literally working oneself to death – karoshi 🤯 The government wants to change that. It has launched a new campaign promoting flexible work hours arrangements\, shorter work time\, as well as overtime limits. While changing habits can be challenging in such a tough work culture\, it could bring many benefits. But first\, employers and employees need to open up to this change. In 2022\, Panasonic\, one of Japan’s largest companies\, introduced a four-day workweek option\, yet only about 150 out of 63\,000 employees decided to participate. If Japan is becoming more serious about a 4-day work week\, so should Europe.
