DESCRIPTION:Stop privéjets\, stop onnodige vervuiling:\nIedereen moet meedoen om de klimaatcrisis te stoppen\, toch pakken de rijksten onder ons steeds vaker het privévliegtuig. Die onnodige vluchten zijn een ramp voor het klimaat. Laat de overheid privéjets verbieden en kiezen voor onze toekomst. \nStop mega-polluting private jets:\nOnly 1% of people are responsible for 50% of global aviation emissions\, a private jet flight causes 5 to 14 times more CO2 emissions than a regular commercial flight per passenger\, and 150 times more than a high-speed rail trip. If we are to meet Europe’s emission reduction targets\, we need a swift decrease of the emissions of the aviation sector. Right now\, alternatives to fossil fuel powered aviation are not available at a large and accessible scale. By regulating the use of private jets\, as well as encouraging the sector to speed up innovation we can move towards other\, low-carbon modes of travel. Ecological and social aspects of electrification and other ways of powering transport must be at the center of innovation\, to ensure that the transition from fossil fuels (such as extractive activities) is done in the most sustainable way possible. States and other regulators such as the EU should therefore take appropriate measures to discourage highly polluting modes of travel\, and encourage both corporations and individuals to move towards alternative\, low-carbon mobility. Tilt! therefore calls on the EU and its member states to: \n\nSet an EU-wide tax on private jets based on the flight’s climate impact.\nBan fossil fueled private jets from EU airports from 2030 onwards\, with a clear list of exceptions for medical and other emergencies.\n\n\nBan private jets:\nJust 1% of the global population is responsible for half of the world’s aviation emissions. The super rich proudly accelerate the #ClimateCrisis\, showing off their planet-wrecking lifestyle. Let’s stop this reckless behaviour. Private jets are the epitome of social and climate injustice: a supremely privileged minority flying like there’s no tomorrow without any restriction\, while 80% of the global population has never even been on a plane and is most heavily impacted by the climate crisis. Governments need to take a strong stand now! Join us by signing the petition. A private jet flight causes about 10 times more CO2 emissions than a regular flight per flight per person\, and 50 times more than the average train ride. 80% of the world’s population have never flown\, yet they’re the ones most impacted by the climate crisis. In just one hour\, a single private jet can emit two tonnes of CO2. DESCRIPTION:In het kader van de op 24-07-2024 gestarte ‘Oil Kills campagne’ zijn er nog meer wereldwijde acties aangekondigd\, ​waarbij er vliegvelden in heel Europa zullen worden ontwricht\, om een einde te eisen aan het gebruik van olie\, kolen en gas door ondertekening van het bindend verdrag ‘Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation treaty‘. \nEen groot aantal campagnes en groepen sluiten zich aan bij de opstand en steunen onze gezamenlijke eis. Hieronder vallen Just Stop Oil UK\, Letzte Generation Oostenrijk\, Extinction Rebellion Nederland\, DROP Fossil Subsidies en Act Now Zwitserland\, Last Generation Canada en Just Stop Oil Schotland. Ze verzetten ons tegen onze regeringen die tot nu toe hebben gefaald om op te treden tegen de grootste bedreiging die we ooit hebben meegemaakt. Op dit moment sterven duizenden  onschuldige mensen en hele landen worden vernietigd als we doorgaan met het winnen en verbranden van fossiele brandstoffen. Dus nemen we geweldloze collectieve actie om de mensheid te verdedigen. Als burgers van rijke\, ontwikkelde landen weten we dat onze landen de grootste verantwoordelijkheid dragen voor de klimaatcrisis. Toch neemt geen enkel land zijn verantwoordelijkheid om de koolstofuitstoot te verminderen\, zoals afgesproken in het Akkoord van Parijs. Daarom vragen we onze regeringen om samen te werken aan een wettelijk bindend internationaal verdrag om het gebruik van olie\, kolen en gas tegen 2030 te beëindigen. Ook willen we dat ze armere landen ondersteunen en financieren om een snelle\, eerlijke en rechtvaardige overgang te maken.
