Nu én in de toekomst. Maar Den Haag doet te weinig om ons te beschermen. En voor de inwoners van Bonaire heeft de regering niet eens een plan. Dat druist in tegen hun mensenrechten. We moeten nu actie zien\, dat is van levensbelang. Eis jij ook rechtvaardigheid? Inwoners van Bonaire eisen samen met Greenpeace rechtvaardig klimaatbeleid: \n\nDe regering moet gevaarlijke klimaatverandering tegengaan: haar fair share leveren aan het doel van maximaal 1\,5 graad Celsius opwarming wereldwijd en de CO2-uitstoot sneller terugdringen.\nDe regering moet plannen maken om inwoners van Bonaire te beschermen tegen de gevolgen van klimaatverandering\, die nu al gevoeld worden.\n\n8 Inwoners van Bonaire en Greenpeace Nederland stapten naar de rechtbank. Waarom? De overheid behandelt mensen in de Caribische gemeenten nog steeds alsof ze er minder toe doen dan de rest van ons. En dat terwijl deze gemeenten extra kwetsbaar zijn voor overstromingen\, extreme hitte en regenval. Op 28 januari 2026 deed de rechtbank uitspraak\, Greenpeace en de inwoners van Bonaire hebben gelijk gekregen in de rechtbank. Volgens NOS beoordeelt de rechter dat de Nederlandse staat de inwoners van Bonaire heeft gediscrimineerd door ze niet genoeg tegen klimaatverandering te beschermen. De Staat wordt verplicht om een met een plan te komen voor klimaatadaptatie op Bonaire\, en met bindende doelen voor uitstootdaling. DESCRIPTION:2025-2026 has been declared the Year of Trade Union Climate Action. \nWorkers everywhere are fighting for action to tackle climate change\, organising to futureproof at-risk jobs\, mobilising to protect vulnerable communities here and abroad\, and sweating for a low-carbon economy that works for workers. Backed by motions at both the 2024 and 2025 TUC Congress\, November sees the start of an important year of UK union action on the climate emergency. On Friday 14 November\, 2025 the Campaign Against Climate Change (CACC) Trade Union Group hopes every union branch in every workplace will demand action to tackle the climate crisis through lunchtime protests\, handing out leaflets\, linking up with community actions\, or raising issues such as working temperatures and air quality at work\, for example. The following day\, events demanding climate action and climate justice will take place across the world to coincide with the COP 30 international climate negotiations in Brazil. The UNISON public services\, Unite general\, NEU education\, PCS public and commercial services\, UCU university and college\, FBU firefighters’ and BFAWU foodworkers’ unions are among those taking part in the year of action. As well as the events on 14 and 15 November\, the NEU will support a National Emergency Briefing on climate and nature in London on 27 November. Eight leading experts will brief 850 politicians and business\, culture and faith leaders\, as well as the media\, with the aim of helping “to trigger a societal tipping point towards emergency-level climate and nature action”. The NEU is also running a series of continuing professional development webinars for members\, while its annual Health\, Safety and Environment Briefing in November includes sessions on clean air\, green bargaining\, and the Climate Ambassadors scheme. The latter\, promoted by the Department for Education\, aims to boost sustainability and climate action in educational settings. In March 2026\, unions in education — the NEU\, UCU\, NAHT and UNISON — will hold a climate and nature festival. This will look at how to support and upskill a just transition\, inspiring climate action in education settings. DESCRIPTION:De winter is een van de vier seizoenen in de gematigde en polaire streken. \nHet afwisselen van de winter met de andere seizoenen wordt veroorzaakt door de schuine stand van de aardas. In de winter staat op het noordelijk halfrond de aardas van de zon af en in de zomer juist naar de zon toe. Op het zuidelijk halfrond is dit omgekeerd\, zodat de winter zich daar juist afspeelt tijdens de zomer van het noordelijk halfrond. Het meest kenmerkend aan de winter is hierdoor\, behalve de in vergelijking met andere seizoenen lage temperaturen\, de korte dagduur. Een bepaalde winter kan worden aangeduid met twee opeenvolgende jaartallen\, zoals ‘winter 2024/2025’. Als er maar één jaartal staat dan is het het jaar waarin de winter begint. Zoals ook met de andere seizoenen\, wordt onderscheid gemaakt tussen de meteorologische en de astronomische winter. \nDe astronomische winter begint op het noordelijk halfrond rond 21 december. De zon staat dan ’s middags aan de Steenbokskeerkring loodrecht aan de hemel. De naam is afgeleid van het sterrenbeeld Steenbok dat rond midden december begint. Deze dag valt daarom ook samen met de kortste dag op het noordelijk halfrond. De astronomische winter eindigt meestal op 20 maart\, soms op 21 maart\, wanneer de zon ’s middags aan de evenaar loodrecht aan de hemel staat (equinox). Hierna begint de lente. Op het zuidelijk halfrond begint de astronomische winter rond 21 juni\, wanneer de zon ’s middags aan de Kreeftskeerkring loodrecht aan de hemel staat. De naam is afgeleid van het sterrenbeeld Kreeft die rond midden juni begint op het zuidelijk halfrond en eindigt meestal op 23 september\, soms op 22 september wanneer de zon ’s middags aan de evenaar loodrecht aan de hemel staat. Omdat de Aarde op 3 januari het perihelium bereikt en het dichtst bij de zon staat (ongeveer 147\,1 miljoen km ofwel 0\,983 AE) en op 5 juli het verst van de zon staat (ongeveer 152\,1 miljoen km ofwel 1\,017 AE is de noordelijke winter minder koud en korter dan de zuidelijke winter. \nLinks:\nUitleg over Winter

DESCRIPTION:The January 2026 North American winter storm was an expansive\, deadly and major winter and ice storm that affected much of North America across regions stretching from Northern Mexico to the Southern and Northeastern United States as well as Canada in late January. \nDeveloping in part from an upper-level low on January 22\, the system steadily moved eastwards across the Central United States\, dropping a very large swath of wintry precipitation. By January 25\, the winter storm had moved into the Northeast\, where it began to transition into a nor’easter. Gusty winds and heavy snow continued to occur in New England\, even as it pulled away from the coastline the following day\, leaving parts of North America with a mix of rain\, sleet\, freezing rain and snow. Meteorologists described the storm as “potentially historic” in its impact\, with the storm at one point encompassing nearly 3\,200 km of length from the Mexico–United States border well into Canada. Twenty-four U.S. state governors issued emergency declarations in response. Winter weather alerts were also issued across a similar length of terrain\, affecting up to 230 million people. The impending storm caused over 10\,000 flights nationwide in the United States to be cancelled or postponed. Travel bans were enacted in numerous states as well. The storm was unofficially named Winter Storm Fern by The Weather Channel. As of January 26\, 50 fatalities had been confirmed due to the storm. Over a million customers lost power\, mostly concentrated within the South where a damaging and crippling ice storm occurred\, causing power lines and trees to snap and break under the weight. Icy conditions also led to hazardous travel afterwards. Overall\, a large swath of snowfall ranging from 30–61 cm occurred from Texas to Maine\, and in some cases (particularly in the South) broke daily snowfall records.
