DESCRIPTION:Nobel Week 2023 vindt plaats op 6–12 december in Stockholm en Oslo. \nSinds 1901 vindt de ceremoniële uitreiking van de ‪Nobelprijzen jaarlijks plaats op 10 december\, de sterfdag van Alfred Nobel. De Nobelprijs bestaat uit een medaille\, een persoonlijk certificaat en een geldbedrag. Als meer dan één persoon een Nobelprijs wint zal het prijzengeld door het evenredige aantal winnaars gedeeld worden. Alfred Bernhard Nobel (1833-1896) was een Zweeds chemicus\, internationaal industrieel\, dichter en filantroop. Het bekendst is zijn uitvinding van het ‪dynamiet in 1866. Nobel schreef in zijn testament dat van de rente van zijn kapitaal\, circa 32 miljoen Zweedse kronen\, elk jaar op zijn sterfdag vijf Nobelprijzen moesten worden uitgereikt. Die prijzen moesten gaan naar personen die zich verdienstelijk hebben gemaakt voor de mensheid\, voor bijzondere vondsten\, ontdekkingen\, onderzoeken\, verrichtingen en aangelegenheden op diverse wetenschappelijke gebieden. In 1968 besloot de Zweedse Rijksbank een prijs toe te voegen aan de vijf categorieën ter nagedachtenis aan Alfred Nobel.
