DESCRIPTION:South by Southwest\, abbreviated as SXSW and colloquially referred to as South By\, is an annual conglomeration of parallel film\, interactive media\, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin\, Texas\, United States. \nIt began in 1987 and has continued growing in both scope and size every year. In 2017\, the conference lasted for 10 days with the interactive track lasting for five days\, music for seven days\, and film for nine days. SXSW is run by the company SXSW\, LLC\, which organizes conferences\, trade shows\, festivals\, and other events. In addition to SXSW\, the company runs the conference SXSW EDU and the SXSW Sydney festival (from 2023\, in Sydney\, Australia) and co-runs North by Northeast in Toronto. It has previously run or co-run the events North by Northwest (1995–2001)\, West by Southwest (2006–2010)\, SXSW Eco (2011–2016)\, SXSW V2V (2013–2015)\, and the me Convention (2017–2019). In addition\, a large number of other events\, past and present\, sometimes collectively referred to as “four-letter festivals”\, have been inspired by SXSW. SUMMARY:InScience Film Festival 2025
DESCRIPTION:InScience\, International Science Film Festival Nijmegen is een van de grootste internationale filmfestivals voor de wetenschapsfilm in Europa\, het programma bestaat uit de beste wetenschapsfilms die het afgelopen jaar wereldwijd zijn verschenen. \nTijdens het festival ontmoeten internationale topwetenschappers\, filmmakers en publiek elkaar om de nieuwste inzichten te delen die de wereld van morgen vormgeven. InScience Film Festival bestaat dit jaar 10 jaar en viert dit met een speciale jubileumeditie van 11 t/m 16 maart 2025 in en rondom LUX Nijmegen. Het thema van 2025\, ‘Food for Thought’\, laat zien hoe InScience al een decennium lang inspireert en prikkelt. InScience viert de verwondering en stimuleert dialoog middels film en wetenschap\, en dit altijd met een blik op de toekomst gericht. ‘Food for Thought’ gaat niet alleen over de manier waarop films\, wetenschap en kunst ons voeden met nieuwe perspectieven. Deze jubileumeditie zal ook specifiek stilstaan bij ons voedsel\, van herkomst tot bestemming. InScience pakt uit met verdiepende talks\, discussies\, experimenten en kunstinstallaties. Daarbij is er speciale aandacht voor immersive\, expanded en eventcinema in de gloednieuwe sectie ‘Beyond’: films die voorbij de grenzen van het witte doek gaan.
