DESCRIPTION:April is de Maand van de Filosofie\, jaarlijks worden tijdens deze maand door heel België en Nederland filosofische nachten\, programma’s\, lezingen\, debatten en festivals georganiseerd. \nElk jaar verschijnt er een nieuw filosofisch essay\, wordt de Socratesbeker uitgereikt aan het beste filosofieboek van het jaar en eens in de twee jaar wordt een nieuwe Denker des Vaderlands uitgeroepen. De filosofie of wijsbegeerte is de oudste theoretische discipline die het verlangen en het streven uitdrukt naar kennis en wijsheid. Zij kwam voor het eerst echt op in de 6e eeuw voor de Gregoriaanse jaartelling. Een beoefenaar van de filosofie wordt een filosoof of wijsgeer genoemd. In het dagelijks spraakgebruik wordt de term filosofie gebruikt om elke vorm van wijsheid of levensbeschouwing aan te duiden (zoals in “iemands filosofie”) of iemands uitgangspunten (zoals in “het sluit niet aan op de filosofie achter dit plan”). DESCRIPTION:De Boekenweek is een sinds 1932 jaarlijks terugkerende tiendaagse in maart ter promotie van het (Nederlandstalige) boek. \nSinds 1932 is de Boekenweek hét jaarlijkse feest van het boek dat gevierd wordt in en met boekhandels\, uitgeverijen\, auteurs\, bibliotheken en de media. De Boekenweek wordt georganiseerd door Stichting Collectieve Propaganda van het Nederlandse Boek (CPNB). Aan de vooravond van de Boekenweek vindt het traditionele Boekenbal plaats. Op dit exclusieve feest viert schrijvend en uitgevend Nederland de start van de Boekenweek. De Boekenweek is ontstaan om zoveel mogelijk mensen te inspireren nieuwe boeken te kopen. Het is het mooiste en grootste jaarlijkse boekenfeest van Nederland\, waarbij we de liefde voor het boek vieren. Het doel en het belang van de Boekenweek staat\, na al die jaren\, nog steeds als een huis. Tijdens de Boekenweek worden lezers geïnspireerd met boekentips en activiteiten in boekhandel en bibliotheek. De 89e editie van de Boekenweek vindt plaats van 16 tot en met 24 maart 2024 en heeft als thema ‘Bij ons in de familie’. The first World Braille Day was celebrated on January 4\, 2019. Braille is a tactile representation of alphabetic and numerical symbols using six dots to represent each letter and number\, and even musical\, mathematical and scientific symbols. Terwijl de overheid steeds meer geld in het onderwijs investeert. Waar gaat dat geld naartoe? Follow The Money (FTM) wil het weten en jonge onderzoeksjournalisten kunnen helpen. In dit programma worden de beste pitches samen met FTM besproken. Aansluitend gaan we in gesprek met onder anderen een hoogleraar onderwijskunde en de onderwijsjournalisten van FTM. Als klapper op de vuurpijl worden de winnende pitches bekendgemaakt. Waar blijft het geld dat we investeren in het onderwijs? Wie bepaalt waaraan het wordt uitgegeven? De dag heeft ook betrekking op een dichter\, journalist of blogger\, deze dag is voor iedereen die betrokken is bij het geschreven of gesproken woord. PEN roept wereldwijd autoriteiten op om iedereen vrij te laten die uitsluitend gevangen is gezet omdat gebruik werd gemaakt van het recht op vrijheid van meningsuiting\, recht op vrijheid van vreedzame vereniging en/of vergadering. Dat vrijheid van meningsuiting niet in elk land zo vanzelfsprekend is helaas meer dan bekend. Elk jaar zet PEN International een paar mensen in de spotlight.
