DESCRIPTION:Wereldboekendag (ook bekend als Internationale dag van het boek en de auteursrechten\, en alternatief geschreven als Wereld Boeken Dag) is een evenement dat jaarlijks op 23 april wordt gehouden door UNESCO ter promotie van lezen\, publicatie en auteursrechten.\n\nDe dag werd voor het eerst gehouden in 1995. De datum 23 april werd gekozen omdat deze dag in Spanje al sinds 1923 in het teken stond van boeken. Op die dag werd de schrijver Miguel de Cervantes geëerd. Dit werd later ook opgenomen in de Spaanse viering van Sint Jorisdag (eveneens op 23 april). Een andere reden om 23 april als datum te kiezen was omdat dit de geboorte- en sterfdag was van William Shakespeare\, Miguel de Cervantes\, Garcilaso de la Vega en Josep Pla. Het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Ierland hanteren als enigen een andere datum voor wereldboekendag. In deze landen wordt de dag gevierd op de eerste donderdag in maart. Dit omdat 23 april nog wel eens wil samenvallen met Pasen en de hierbij horende schoolvakanties. Wereldboekendag wordt inmiddels in meer dan 100 landen gevierd\, waarbij elk land zijn eigen activiteiten organiseert. Zij kwam voor het eerst echt op in de 6e eeuw voor de Gregoriaanse jaartelling. Een beoefenaar van de filosofie wordt een filosoof of wijsgeer genoemd. In het dagelijks spraakgebruik wordt de term filosofie gebruikt om elke vorm van wijsheid of levensbeschouwing aan te duiden (zoals in “iemands filosofie”) of iemands uitgangspunten (zoals in “het sluit niet aan op de filosofie achter dit plan”). Op dit exclusieve feest viert schrijvend en uitgevend Nederland de start van de Boekenweek. De Boekenweek is ontstaan om zoveel mogelijk mensen te inspireren nieuwe boeken te kopen. Het is het mooiste en grootste jaarlijkse boekenfeest van Nederland\, waarbij we de liefde voor het boek vieren. Het doel en het belang van de Boekenweek staat\, na al die jaren\, nog steeds als een huis. Tijdens de Boekenweek worden lezers geïnspireerd met boekentips en activiteiten in boekhandel en bibliotheek. Het thema in 2025 voor de 90ste Boekenweek is ‘je moerstaal!‘ In een boek kun je op reis gaan\, andere werelden ontdekken. Maar in taal kun je juist ook thuiskomen. Als woorden vertrouwd en echt voelen\, als personages praten zoals jij: dan is taal je moerstaal. Maar taal staat nooit stil\, en dat geldt ook voor je moerstaal. The first World Braille Day was celebrated on January 4\, 2019. Braille is a tactile representation of alphabetic and numerical symbols using six dots to represent each letter and number\, and even musical\, mathematical and scientific symbols. De dag heeft ook betrekking op een dichter\, journalist of blogger\, deze dag is voor iedereen die betrokken is bij het geschreven of gesproken woord. PEN roept wereldwijd autoriteiten op om iedereen vrij te laten die uitsluitend gevangen is gezet omdat gebruik werd gemaakt van het recht op vrijheid van meningsuiting\, recht op vrijheid van vreedzame vereniging en/of vergadering. Dat vrijheid van meningsuiting niet in elk land zo vanzelfsprekend is helaas meer dan bekend. Elk jaar zet PEN International een paar mensen in de spotlight. DESCRIPTION:Die Frankfurter Buchmesse (Boekenbeurs Frankfurt) ist eine internationale Buchmesse\, die jährlich im Oktober auf dem Gelände der Messe Frankfurt stattfindet. \nSie wurde 1949 vom Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels gegründet. Seit 1976 wurden regionale und thematische Schwerpunkte gebildet; seit 1988 stellt sie in jedem Jahr die Literatur und Kultur eines Gastlandes besonders heraus. Während der Buchmesse werden der Deutsche Buchpreis\, der Friedenspreis des Deutschen Buchhandels\, der Deutsche Jugendliteraturpreis und viele andere Branchenauszeichnungen verliehen. Die Frankfurter Buchmesse hat eine mehr als 500-jährige Tradition. Eine Buchmesse in Frankfurt am Main gab es schon in der frühen Neuzeit\, nachdem Johannes Gutenberg in Mainz\, nur wenige Kilometer von Frankfurt entfernt\, den Buchdruck revolutioniert hatte und die Buchdrucker Johannes Fust\, Peter Schöffer und Konrad Henckis die Frankfurter Messe zum Umschlagsort des den Handschriftenhandel ablösenden Verlagsbuchhandels machten. Die Buchmesse dient als Fachmesse in erster Linie Verlegern\, Literaturagenten\,  Buchhändlern\, Bibliothekaren\, Wissenschaftlern\, Illustratoren\, Dienstleistern\, Filmproduzenten\, Übersetzern\, Druckern\, Verbänden\, Künstlern\, Autoren\, Antiquaren\, aber auch Software- und Multimedia-Anbietern zur Vorstellung ihres Angebots und dem Abschluss von Geschäften. \nDer Handel mit Buchlizenzen und -rechten findet in einem eigenen Agentencenter statt. Dieses sogenannte B2B-Geschäft zwischen Unternehmen steht im Mittelpunkt der Messe\, die sich erst in zweiter Linie an das allgemeine Publikum richtet\, dem nur an den letzten beiden Messetagen Zugang gewährt wird. Daneben wird die Messe zunehmend als Produktionsort für Rundfunksendungen genutzt. Hörfunk- und Fernsehsender veranstalten während der Messetage auf einer eigenen Bühne Gesprächssendungen\, die vielfach live übertragen oder im Internet gestreamt werden\, wie zum Beispiel Das Blaue Sofa des ZDF (bis 2022) oder die Lesebühne von ARD\, ZDF und 3sat. Die Bedeutung der journalistischen Angebote spiegelt sich in der großen Zahl akkreditierter Berichterstatter wider. Im Jahr 2016 berichteten rund 10.000 Journalisten von der Messe; darunter waren auch 2.000 Blogger. Die Frankfurter Buchmesse fördert in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Auswärtigen Amt\, dem Goethe-Institut und anderen Institutionen die Übersetzung deutscher Literatur im Ausland. Dazu werden jedes Jahr rund 25 Beteiligungen an Buchmessen in aller Welt organisiert. \nZur Übersetzungsförderung wurden seit Anfang der 1990er Jahre in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Goethe-Institut Buchinformationszentren gegründet\, die inzwischen allerdings unter der Bezeichnung German Book Office stark in die Vertriebsarbeit der Messe eingebunden sind. Derzeit gibt es ständige Präsenzen in New York\, Peking\, Moskau\, Bukarest und New Delhi. Darüber hinaus existieren Stipendienprogramme wie das vom Auswärtigen Amt finanzierte Einladungsprogramm für Verleger aus Afrika\, Asien und Lateinamerika und das Frankfurt Fellowship\, das sich an den verlegerischen Nachwuchs richtet. Zum 50. Tevens is het Prentenboek van de Kinderboekenweek te koop\, wordt er een lied (songtekst en bladmuziek van ‘Lekker eigenwijs’) uitgebracht door Kinderen voor Kinderen en wordt een gedicht aangewezen als officieel gedicht van de Kinderboekenweek. Verder worden er prijzen uitgereikt\, waaronder de Gouden en Zilveren Griffels\, en worden er onder andere lespakketten en lijsten met thematitels samengesteld voor in het onderwijs. DESCRIPTION:Wereldboekendag (ook bekend als Internationale dag van het boek en de auteursrechten\, en alternatief geschreven als Wereld Boeken Dag) is een evenement dat jaarlijks op 23 april wordt gehouden door UNESCO ter promotie van lezen\, publicatie en auteursrechten.\n\nDe dag werd voor het eerst gehouden in 1995. De datum 23 april werd gekozen omdat deze dag in Spanje al sinds 1923 in het teken stond van boeken. Op die dag werd de schrijver Miguel de Cervantes geëerd. Dit werd later ook opgenomen in de Spaanse viering van Sint Jorisdag (eveneens op 23 april). Een andere reden om 23 april als datum te kiezen was omdat dit de geboorte- en sterfdag was van William Shakespeare\, Miguel de Cervantes\, Garcilaso de la Vega en Josep Pla. Het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Ierland hanteren als enigen een andere datum voor wereldboekendag. In deze landen wordt de dag gevierd op de eerste donderdag in maart. Dit omdat 23 april nog wel eens wil samenvallen met Pasen en de hierbij horende schoolvakanties. Wereldboekendag wordt inmiddels in meer dan 100 landen gevierd\, waarbij elk land zijn eigen activiteiten organiseert.
